Making Folder View Permanent
 

On my removable harddrive, flash drive, etc, I have archived folders and they default in tile view. Whenever I change them to List view or Detail view, it changes back to Tile the next time I open it. How can I make these view changes permanent? I'd really like my pictures folder to have Tile view... and everything else to be list view, is there any way to do this?

Under Windows Explorer, click Tools -> Options

In the View tab under advanced settings, scroll down and make sure that
[ ] Remember each folder's view settings
is checked.

If it is already checked, download and install TWEAKUI from the Microsoft website.

Under TweakUI, go to Explorer --> Customizations. Increase the figure in "Folders to remember" to an appropriately large size.
