Custom Beer Pong (Beirut) Table
Over the next couple weeks I'm going to be starting on a pretty big endeavor: a custom beer pong table. I've worked out dimensions and the table will go towards standard size and height. I've looked at a lot of different videos online, and am going to try to adopt ideas to really make it fit the atmosphere.
Example Video: The Ultimate Beirut Table video What I Don't Want I don't want a blatant ripoff of anyone's table, however, I'd love to use many elements from other tables. What I do Want From the video above, I want to use the tube idea to replace water cups, and have the system circulate the water into some level of a central area, perhaps a mini version of one of those waterfall walls. How Can GFF Help? Simple. The way I see it, not every idea about Beirut tables has been posted online, and no doubt we all have our own stories and thoughts. Post anything related to memories in BP or table ideas you may have. Current To-Do List + Oak Top with cabinet on underside (Will be Poly'd and waterproofed) + Water Cup Irrigation System (sexy name) + Some form of subtle lights that run the length of the table + Edge of table is lipped about 1/8" with some degree of holes to drain the appropriate liquid from a lot of spillage. + Possibly a fog machine, and if so, holes will be around the triangle cup areas, but this idea's up in the air + A notch on the middle edge, one of the cabinets will be able to hold a keg and the notch allows for a tap on the side of the table. I'm looking to spend in the $300 range on this table, so not many ideas will be too lucrative. A time-lapse video is going to be made of this, and I'll definitely post it here for you! |
I'd say have some nice way to store beer at the table or have a pre-metered amount of beer for a button press so you can fill cups up quickly, accurately, and reliably (perhaps a variable knob so when you want to drink more you can just crank it up higher).
Oh, and spinnas. |
The tube lights are an awesome fit for lighting around the table. If you want them on the cheap, your best bet is to check out stores after Christmas. A lot of places have massive overstock and sell at about half price, and some even lower. I'm sure you could also get some decent plastic liners to put in the corners of the table for your water holes (for ball washing of course).
(Honestly your best bet is just to walk up and down a Home Depot store and see if you get some ideas.) |
You better remember to put wheels on the bottom of that bitch, so you can move it.

You know the more I think about it, for $300, I'd rather get a really nice poker table and get a top or something for it that I could play Beirut on. $300 for something that's just gonna end up being a drunken mess in the end anyways seems like a waste.

Poker Table?
Nah Nah Nah, arkanoid table is where it's at. But I digress. |
