Wiimote Jackets: More Free Stuff!

| Nintendo - Customer Service | Wii Remote Jacket Accessory Offer

New consoles are shipped with some sort of grip. I'm not quite sure if I'll want it, but considering the things are free, then its worth getting.

Yeah, I woke up and saw the familiar blue glow of a new network message lighting my room like a fucking beacon and thought, "Oh great. Another useless message from Nintendo regarding new releases."

To make a long story short: I ordered 4.

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 02:41 PM

If I knew it was gonna be this easy, then hell, I'm getting some myself.

I'm whorring out four myself for the future when I get two more. <_<

Slayer X Oct 2, 2007 03:44 PM

I Nintendo wants to share their rediculous amount of profit with me then I'm game. Ordering 4 myself, Boo Ya! For thoes interested this is costing Nintendo around $18million according to analysts, thanks.

Well given that the Wii and the DS are pretty much licenses to print money, 18million isn't that much for them, I don't think.

I wonder if they're gonna bundle these with the systems? Still need to pick a Wii up this Holiday Season :3

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 04:03 PM

And argh, do you have to be registered to the website to claim these things? It says that my Wii Serial Number isn't a valid Wii number. <_<

Slayer X Oct 2, 2007 04:11 PM

Perhaps so then. It's not that hard to do. So register for free shit, I say.

@Dark Nation
Trust me, I know how much they're making. I've taken the Wii apart and it's only worth half what it's retail for. Which is why it's nice to see them at least giving back to the gamers. You'll never see MS do that, maybe Sony.

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 04:12 PM

Yeah, I just went and registered for the site. Hopefully it will work now... I'm gonna go get Sin and Punishment in the meantime. :3:

[edit] Yep, it worked. Also, any shipping and handling fees that you have to pay?

You might have to pay shipping but I'm not too sure. I have somewhat of a bad memory and don't remember everything when ordering my better wii straps! D=! I do remember that it took as long as 3 weeks to get to my house though. :(

I'm totally getting four even if they look ugly as fuck. :eagletear:

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 04:42 PM

Drat, if there is a shipping fee, but hell, I'll see what I could do about that. <_<

Slayer X Oct 2, 2007 04:47 PM

I dought there is. There wasn't one for the straps. But I guess thoes just came in an envelope however.

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 04:48 PM

Then woot. Must find a faster connection. My connection is too freakin' slow.

[edit] ARGH. WHY MUST THIS DAY BE SO TROUBLING FOR ME? I finally find a fast connection to confirm my order on, and now they say I've exceeded the amount that I could request. Now I can't get my damn sleeves.

What now?

Sousuke Oct 2, 2007 06:38 PM

Same here. I ordered four, just like I did with the wriststraps... Even though I only have two Wiimotes. So far, anyway.

Slayer X Oct 2, 2007 06:44 PM

@Chaotic
I guess that means that your prior requests went through even though the page didn't refresh. It can't say you have reached your limit if it doesn't have an order for your Wii code. So it must have went through.

The_Griffin Oct 2, 2007 06:59 PM

I'll be skipping this, myself.

Original Wii (including the janky-ass wriststraps), until the day it dies!

Especially since they could have sold it for $200 and STILL made money... IIRC they said something like "If we sell it for too little, there will be a disincentive for casual and non gamers to buy it, when compared to the price of the competition.". Don't quote me on that though ^_^;;

Well I obviously can't get one right now, but someone should post pics when theirs arrive for closer inspection :)

It did go through before, but when I was trying to confirm my order, the page kept saying I timed out.

Wii condom alert.

Hmm. America only, right? What's with the buldge at the front of the controller? Well no matter, it's fucking impossible to throw your remote if it's attached to the nunchuck, so I don't have any protection on mine right now. I have a pre-ordered Phoenix Wright wrist strap on my Wii remote though, and even that is annoying.

tl;dr I don't like the way they look at all. But then again I own a Wii, so this is an oxymoron.

Omnislash124 Oct 2, 2007 09:11 PM

I don't think they look very well with the remote. It kind of takes away some of the charm of the Wiimote. Regardless, if it's free, hell, I can't complain. I'm going to pick up 4.

They do look a bit ugly though. -_-

Infernal Monkey Oct 2, 2007 09:17 PM

Oh cool, NEStendo Australia's doing this too. Wow, free junk! I'm going to ring them right now. Right after I finish typing. Right now. Some lucky lady is in for a good time when I get them.

Lukage Oct 2, 2007 09:28 PM

I actually have four Wiimotes. Actually, I have five. I use one for my PC. :)

The Plane Is A Tiger Oct 2, 2007 10:24 PM

Well, thanks to Nintendo's site screwing up I have to wait until tomorrow night to do this now. The whole thing went crazy and started giving 404 errors when I got to the checkout screen, and when I tried again it told me I'd exceeded the number of jackets per serial number and to try again in 24 hours if that was an error. Looks like the same problem as Chaotic. If it doesn't fix itself tomorrow night I'll call the 800 number on Thursday.

I'm not sure if I'll even use these things, but they're free. Why not?

Chaotic Oct 2, 2007 10:35 PM

Oh, then it isn't just me. :3:

Slayer X Oct 2, 2007 10:58 PM

Alright, so you guys are using the US site right. Hopefully the Canadian site doesn't have the same problem when I go to do mine.

Infernal Monkey Oct 2, 2007 11:15 PM

Hey at least you guys get some form of space-age technology to order them, I had to ring up and wait as the guy on the other end went to find out what I was even talking about. "Wait, you want a new controller?" "No, some cover thing! It's on your site!" "Really?" Free offer = ten billion dollar phone bill. :tpg:
