Odd Assumption Situations

Ok, today I was a bit creeped out. Somebody in my japanese class kept trying to hit on me. I wouldn't mind it normally but let's just say that it only applies when WOMEN hit on me. So that got me thinking.

Have you ever had any odd social situations happen to you because you or someone else assumed something and it turned out to be False (or true for that matter)?

I once assumed that someone wasn't a fundamentalist christian who would get up and leave because I made a glib remark about the bible...

Back when I was a club hopper, I would get hit on by gay men. Being a guy myself this was a bit uncomfortable. I didn't make a big deal of it though cause I dressed in a way that got peoples attention. I even chatted with the guys and got to know them and their friends. I'm big on social mingling its all good were all here to have fun.

Another time in my club days, I found myself face to face with an angry husband. I liked to dance and she wanted a partner. Anyway this dude is ready to pound me & his wife has this "oh @#$%*!" look on her face. (funny I can almost see it now)

I was buzzin with a few drinks and the mass of humanity around me was too. I had the idea of being Bugs Bunny so I took this big 6ft guy by the hands and started dancing with him too. He was stunned, he didnt know what to do, his wife was laughing hard and he just had the most confused look like "help me?" on his face. Moments later I wave them by by, wiped my brow in relief and found myself another place to party.

Does it count when you are constantly assumed to be gay on such a regular basis you basically may as well be because you pretty much already are to everyone anyway?

That's an awesome story. It would be cool to have kind of social bravado... instead I just freak out and melt into a puddle.
