Creating a DVD of TV Shows
Hey all,
I'm trying to create a DVD with menus that can be played on a regular DVD player with episodes of TV shows. I have .avi files. I've been using Nero 7 Ultra (which I guess means Nero Vision...4?). I tried this twice, once with 6 episodes and once with 4. The episodes themselves made it onto the disc, but the video plays slower than the audio. It works for the first episode on the disc, but the other episodes, the audio is going at the proper pace, but the video runs at about 80% speed the entire way, so it's completely out of sync the entire time. I know it isn't an issue with my player, because the exact same thing happens if I play the DVD on my PS2 or on my computer. Is Nero a crappy program to do this with? Might there be a problem with the AVIs or my DVD burner? |
Nero is a crappy program to do this with. I was forever having the same trouble with the video out of sync with the sound. That's when I had enough and decided it was time to see what good ol' Google could find me. Well, I did manage to find a program that has done away with the out-of-sync video and sound. Also works with films. The program that I now use rather than Nero is ConvertXtoDVD.
Gimme a little while and I can upload it for you. EDIT: http://www.badongo.com/file/4374153 |
Oh cool, a very big thanks, I'll try that out. :)

BM or Domino, any chance that program can be put on Rapidshare? I, too, am trying to get a decent program to put TV shows on a DVD (although I am also trying to get as much on a DVD as possible. I have seen DVD's with 4 hours or so worth of SImpson episodes, in synch, subtitles and all).

So, I was finally able to give this program a shot, and it made two coasters for me. Both DVD players I tried playing the DVD in didn't recognize it as a DVD. My computer said it was blank. Weird.

That's not good. Does burning a DVD with another program work?
|
Yeah, I can burn a DVD through Nero, but Nero fucks up the audio/video sync. :\
Additional Spam: Well, I think I figured it out. I found a tip buried somewhere way deep on the Internet that the Nero codecs fucking blow. So if you disable them, Nero encodes the files properly. Burning the DVD now to make sure it works, but it played properly in the preview pane this time. You'd think something as straight-forward as DVD authoring would have a really super fabulous freeware solution, but things either don't work for everyone or are incomplete. |
