Graphic Tablet Grief

Hey I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this:

I was using my graphic tablet yesterday (A Trust TB-3100, if that helps) and it was working fine. Then all of a sudden something happened that made it go funny. Basically, it was like it was working in mouse mode - rather than using the full length of the board, it was just using a small area. The pen wasn't clicking either. Pressure sensitivity wasn't working aswell.

At first I thought this may just be the pen battery, so I replaced that but it didn't help. Next I tried restarting my computer, but the same crap was happening.

Next I thought, maybe it was the tablet (I have two you see). So I tried plugging in the other one, (which is a HyperPen 12000U) and strangely enough, the same problem was happening with the other tablet. So it obviously wasn't a defect with the actual hardware itself.

So I figured it must be the actual drivers that are the problem. So I removed them and reinstalled them. I tried about 3 or 4 different downloads (for both tablets) but the same crap was happening.

I noticed that it works fine as the computer is starting up - while it's loading all the different things on startup, it works the way it should be working. But as soon as the driver itself loads and the icon comes up on the bottom right hand corner of the screen, that's when it starts behaving the way I described earlier.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what this is and how to fix it? I've been at it for the past like 3 hours and give up. It's around deadline time, figures something would happen!

I don't have any experience with tablets, however you say that it works until the driver is loaded to the taskbar, if thats the case can you stop it from loading on startup (either by deleting it from the startup folder, through the software itself or via msconfig) or does the driver need to run to allow for extra functions?

Im not sure but I shall give it a try! Could you tell me how I would be able to find it? It's not in the startup folder for some reason the only thing that's in there is Microsoft Office.

I know someone said something about using the regedit program but I opened that up and didn't have a clue where to look!

Click on the start menu -> Run
Type in msconfig
Click on the startup tab
Look for something with the name of your tablet/ drivers (be careful you don't want to disable somehthing else... may cause problems!)
Untick it then hit ok

If you don't know which one to try, you can always post a pic and I'll have a look.

Usually--from what I've seen--there's a setting someplace to have the tablet operate in 'tablet mode.' Search around your tablet's... settings to see if there's such an option.
