It's a suprise I know, Another PC Problem (Monitor Related)

Earlier I was moving my moniter around (It's an LCD 17 Inch Monitor) and I had my PSP Metal Case right below it. So in a turn of fate (stupidity), I had got the wire caught (unknowingly) and set the moniter down this resulted in the screen falling directly on the Metal Case (fairly hard as well). Now the result is an un-cracked screen but I have spots on my moniter that are a lot brighter then others. This is probably another problem without a solution other then "get a new one" type thing. It's not un-bearable to the point that I can't see, It's just there enough to annoy you while using it. Any idea on how I could possibly fix this? I know, Stupidity on my part but opinions never hurt.

I've heard rubbing the screen gently can help with certain LCD defects, but I wouldn't try it except as a last-resort measure.

Basically I'd never try to fix a monitor on my own. It's just not the same as with handling memory with memtest +86, or a chkdsk /r on your PC, for example.

Contact the Monitor's manufacter and ask about warranty on the device, and see what they say. It's faster/easier than asking the company you bought the computer from, like if the monitor is from Viewsonic...
