GBAdvance emulation Problem?

I've got a Nintendo DS , for which i bought a couple games, namely, Avatar and Castlevania:Aria of Sorrow ,

Now the problem is, both games won't save, in game they do show that you've saved successfully, but turn it off and back on and then , BAM, nothing..

Its terribly frustrating especially for a game like Castlevania, is this normal?
Is it just an emulation limitation (Which i must've missed somehow, cuz in some other games it did save, IIRC) or is it a specific problem?

O and if this isn't the right place to ask, please tell me Where can i go to/where should i look to try and solve this?

Thanks in advance.. (get it, Advance, heh heh.. :( )

The Nintendo DS doesn't do emulation.

It has an ARM7 processor (the same as the GBA,) so everything is done natively.

Pretty much, your game carts are fucked and you should return the games, if you can.

Basically what Merv said, your carts are probably messed up. I forget the technical term, but what makes the games save on the cartridge are probably broken.

Same thing happened with my Super Mario Bros. Deluxe game on the GBC.

Firstly, are your carts bootlegged ones? Check for authentic tri-wing screws on the back to confirm. I'm pretty sure that Aria (and more recent GBA games) uses flash memory, so they probably are fake.

It's possible the BRAM is dead, I guess, but the GBA really isn't old enough to be having those problems, is it? Someone would have to have been playing it everyday, saving left and right for that to happen. Someone probably spilled something on them or threw them really hard if they aren't bootleg carts. Either way, return them if possible.

Could the batteries be dead. THat happened with my Pokemon Red before.

Sounds like the battery is dead. if there was a bad wire, it would say that hte data couldn't be saved.
