Bonus question: is this number the same number of times you knock on wood to ward off jinxes and bad karma?

I generally knock 3 times. for both. A nice odd number.

The standard "5 knock" sound for me.
If I know the person very closely, I actually bust out a drum rhythm until they answer.

After much thought, I just went and knocked my own damn door: 3 knocks, and rather loud ones at that. I seldom knock for superstition, but I'm pretty sure I do 2 light knocks.

Outside door: Normally five.

Inside door: Normally three.

Superstition: Never.

Usually, three to five. I don't think I'm consistent with the number. BUT! Sometimes I'll do one knock... just to confuse people and get them to be like "what the hell?" since most people expect multiple knocks.

Also like Summonmaster, if I know the person, I may bust out a percussion beat/kick the door. We should go door knocking together sometime... after Mario Strikers.

I think we've found a new event for next year's X Games: Extreme Door-Knocking. Send the players into a blighted urban area and see how many doors they can knock on before they get beaten/shot.

For the record, I knock 3 times on doors, and think knocking on wood is superstitious nonsense.
