From what I know you really only get cought with it if your sharing at (and I mean uploading a lot of GB's around) but if your worried use Bit torrent and a private tracker like demonoid (if you would like a invite then let me know I should be able to give you a demonoid invite if you want it)

Except Demonoid ain't that private? I've downloaded some torrents from there without registering or logging in.

The only time I was able to do that was when there was a few trackers connected to the torrent

Why do people still talk about demonoid like it's some special super secret private place.

Nowadays, it's basically like a public tracker that just requires registration and is hard to register for.

If I'm after screeners of new movies (I recently got the bourne ultimatum, and it was pretty great if I say so myself~), I use real private trackers. If I'm after some random old movie like beauty and the beast (don't ask), I'll just hop on mininova or the pirate bay and get it from wherever.

If you download movies, your scrotum will shrivel and your eyes will fill with pus [/Anti-piracy Group] :p

Unless you're planning to become a major seeder, I don't think you have too much to worry about. Of course, that being said, you should be more careful about dodgy torrents. Always check the comments.

And Roph, you're avatar is too damn hypnotic :D I've been staring at it for the last 5 minutes *shakes fist*

I usually get release news from http://www.rlslog.net It has BT links as well but I usually just search for MU links through google.

Ugh, downloading screeners is just the most retarded idea ever.

Why would you waste your time downloading a shit quality version of a movie when you could just wait a few months and download a higher quality DVD rip? I mean, that's what I do if there's a new movie that I want to download that badly.

Maybe it's like, um, just kind of spittin' out ideas here

Maybe they want to see the movie NOW

And not in a few months

"Why waste your time" ... "when you could just wait a few months". :edgartpg:

DVD screeners are usually the same or slightly less than DVDrip quality anyways. And if you view it with a DIVX DVD player, it's the same as DVDrip.

so, what about downloading via torrentspy or mininova? it would still be ok as long as i don't do some major seeding?

The unmovable stubborn Aug 19, 2007 03:00 AM

Dude, regardless of your method your odds of being singled out to be made into an example are relatively infinitesimal. Just suck it up, nobody has the patience to sit here and answer yes/no "will I be safe if I do this" questions for all eternity.

 you will be ok

Most screeners I've come across are comparable, if not as good as DVDrips.

Recent Bourne Ultimatum screener was an example of a pretty terrible one:

Though after a short while you completely ignore the logo / numbers.
