Those Sparkly Whites

So how white are your teeth? Mine are pretty yellow, I feel, esp. my fangs. I am going to get one of those whitening kits. Anybody exp. with these?

Going ahead and letting the world know about my GOLD TEEF.

GRILLZ WHAT

Midna Aug 11, 2007 11:50 PM

No teeth. I had all mine pulled as I prefer the versatility of dentures so I can give the smoothest BJs possible.

knkwzrd Aug 12, 2007 01:05 AM

I was lucky enough to be born with naturally strong, white teeth. Not perfectly straight (I had braces) but nice as hell besides that.

Guru Aug 12, 2007 01:37 AM

My teeth aren't yellow. They have more of a brown tinge. You know, too much coffee.

They're not really all that bad, to be honest. It's almost like in today's society, people with abnormally white teeth, you know they just got something done cosmetically. It looks weird and unnatural. So is it really attractive?

DragoonKain Aug 12, 2007 01:48 AM

White, but not celebrity fake white. Since I have slight OCD, hygiene is one of the things I obsess about. I brush my teeth and use mouthwash every single day and have every single day at least twice a day for the last 10 years.

It may seem superficial, but I simply can't date someone who has yellow teeth. I can put up with a little yellow if I know they are brushing and it is just natural, but otherwise I find it disgusting.

Mine are a little whiter than is natural, I think, but not that blinding white some of you are talking about. I smoked for years and also I'm a coffee drinker, so about three years ago I started to notice that they weren't quite as white as they used to be and had them bleached.

If anyone cares, that process involves going to the dentist and having a mold made of your mouth (they let me keep it and I painted the gums pink and the teeth white and I keep it in my bathroom...no idea why), and then they make a bleaching tray that fits your teeth perfectly, which you pick up about a week later. Then you just take it home, put some bleaching gel in it, and wear it for an hour a day for a couple of weeks. After the initial bleaching, you're supposed to do that same thing for one week once a year. The bleach itself is really cheap. I get it off Ebay for like $25 for a year's supply.

I am sorry if my white teeth offend.

EDIT: Here's the mold of my teeth. Sometimes I click them at people for fun.

One of the numerous advantages in giving up smoking was the return of actually white teeth. Definitely not the reason why I quit, but it was a nice bonus.

Coffee gave me some stains, but I used some of those whitestrips and cleaned them up, and stopped drinking coffee. (Though not because of the stains.) Now they're pretty white.

Aardark Aug 12, 2007 12:19 PM

People with completely white teeth disgust me.

Alice Aug 12, 2007 12:49 PM

Yeah, me too. It's much less disgusting when they have crooked brown teeth with pieces of corn lodged in them.

Temari Aug 12, 2007 12:51 PM

Alice, I would honestly be so creeped out if I walked into a friend's bathroom and just saw this ... set of teeth sitting there. Like a decoration. Haha.

I have to be completely honest, I hated (Read that again HATED, LOATHED, hissy-fit-on-the-floor 'do not want') brushing my teeth as a child. I always felt like the toothpaste burned my mouth. So, as a result, I rarely did it, and my teeth are kinda yellow today. There was one point in time where Crest came out with toothpaste that was flavored Orange, and I loved it, so my mom bought a ton of it to get me to brush. (They also came out with Strawberry, but it definitely wasnt as good. It wasnt long before they stopped making both flavors though. :() I like the tingly sensations toothpastes give me now, though. Minty fresh, ahhh.

My teeth are strong as hell, but they aren't as white as I'd like them to be. Plus I really don't like the shape of my front teeth... I dunno, just a quirk. I do have a chipped front tooth that, no matter how many times we've tried to fix it, it always becomes un-fixed. It's my unique trait!

PiccoloNamek Aug 12, 2007 01:04 PM

Despite brushing and flossing regularly, quitting coffee, mountian dew, and candy, my teeth are still not as while as I'd like, unfortunately.

Toothpaste still burns the crap out of my mouth. It makes my salivary glands go into overdrive for several minutes afterwards.

It's okay, you don't have to feel insecure about your decision to bleach your teeth. If it was previously brown and complete with pieces of corn, then bleaching is acceptable.

Summonmaster Aug 12, 2007 05:17 PM

Slightly yellow now that I observe and defintiely not even close to straight.
For some reason, I think that there is something amiss when people have pure white teeth. Somewhat unnatural, or too much effort, something like that.

Arkhangelsk Aug 12, 2007 05:59 PM

Mine are probably a bit off-white nowadays, mostly because of coffee-drinking, but also thanks to braces for 3 years :(.

I always had really strong teeth, but I really didn't like to brush them when I was young. Despite this, I never had cavities until after the braces thing (LAME). I guess I'll take pride in the fact that they're straight, and I can use some whitestrips if it bothers me too much.

The color of tartar after years of buildup. That is to say my teeth look a bit lite yellow.

Dee Aug 14, 2007 09:59 PM

My teeth are slightly yellow. That's the only part of me I want to change, so I got myself those new Listerine whitening things... going to see if they actually work. =\

My Dreams Aug 15, 2007 06:07 AM

Little yellow here. Apparently only brushing doesn't help. I might want to do something about the yellowness soon.

Krelian Aug 15, 2007 09:56 AM

I went through a phase a few years ago during which I didn't brush them at all for upwards of three months. They seem to be permanently off-white nowadays, but not horrible.

Celes Chere Aug 15, 2007 04:10 PM

My teeth are pretty yellow and I've tried several things to whiten them but nothing worked. :( They're straight though, so I guess I can't complain too much.

JuanGervainian Aug 17, 2007 02:09 AM

I just brush my teeth on a regular basis, and they stay nice an' white. I also have some charmingly straight teeth, so I guess I'm set.

Muzza Aug 17, 2007 06:41 PM

Unfortunately, my teeth are a tiny bit yellow. They're getting less yellow over time though, which is a good thing. It'll take a while for me to remove my childhood sweet-toothery; I was always notorious in my household for having yellow teeth. =X

But now I have the best teeth.

=D
