Dragon Quest VIII issues
 

just got this game.. its beatiful.. but,

I have a slim ps2.. and i notice outside towns, sometimes the screen tears like vysnc is off or something.. is it my ps2?

I don't remember having that problem. I had the slim ps2 also.
I hope you enjoy DQ8. It made my top 10 games of all time (as nothing in the year 2000 or higher has made my top 10 games until that came).

I have the same problem even on my PS3, it's just the game so don't worry about it. Screen tearing is prominent in plenty of PS2 (and sadly even a few PS3 and 360) games. Some people are just more likely to notice it than others.

Odd, I'm about 50 hours into DQ VIII and I haven't seen any screen tearing. If it's a frequent issue then you might want to check your AV/Component/Whatever cables. Loose cables seem to account for about 70% of the issues I have like that.

I never experienced that issue, perhaps it's your copy or your TV.

Mine's been fine, but I've only been playing on Component cables.

Just got the game in June, love it.
