I like how she hasn't aged.

Shia looks like a faggot, as usual.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Jul 27, 2007 09:44 PM

No Sallah = utter faggotry. Seriously Spielberg, what the fuck.

Skexis Jul 27, 2007 10:54 PM

^Agreed.

I guess Marcus won't be coming back either(?)
Anyway, one of my more anticipated movies for the next year or so. I'm glad Spielberg and Lucas could find a script they agreed on.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Jul 28, 2007 12:38 AM

Unfortunately, Denholm Elliott has been dead for 15 years.

EDIT: Though now that I think about it, there's a photo of one of the locales with a shop called Brody's something. Maybe Brody's Antiques? I can't remember, it's around though.

EDIT2: Ah, here we are:

Quote:

However, most likely as a reference to Marcus, "Brody's Barbershop" has been identified in a production shot of a set for the fourth film. Additionally, a portrait of Brody will hang in the hall of the archeology department at Marshall College.

Skexis Jul 28, 2007 01:17 AM

Ah, that's a real shame, then. I had no idea.
While we're on the topic of lost characters, did any of the Indiana Jones EU ever explain what happened to Shortround? I know Temple of Doom was supposed to take place before Raiders, so I wondered where he went off to.

That doesn't really stop them from computer-animating him, does it?

At any rate, this is going to be awesome, I guess, but only if Spielberg doesn't fuck up again like he's recently done with War of the Worlds http://www.gamingforce.org/forums/im...ons/icon13.gif

The offical title was annouced today.. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

What do you think?

dagget Sep 10, 2007 07:08 PM

Hm, I'm curious to what it's about now. I was hoping it would be centered around Atlantis (well I guess it could still be, considering the plot hasn't been announced yet).

www.indianajones.com (official site)

When was the first trailer supposed to come out? Thanksgiving?

Dopefish Sep 10, 2007 08:10 PM

Ahaha, crystall skulls are an excellent topic.

Skexis Sep 10, 2007 08:53 PM

A little bit of digging reveals that the Japanese Indiana Jones-themed ride in DisneySea has to do with the search for the fountain of youth which is guarded by a temple that also houses a crystal skull.

You guys don't think they'll try to stretch the ride's plot for all it's worth, do you?

dagget Sep 10, 2007 09:32 PM

I guess they're thinking if it worked for Pirates, it would work with Indiana Jones.

Musharraf Sep 11, 2007 01:25 AM

Isn't Harrison Ford like 80+ years old?

No. He's 65, but he doesn't look a shade over 50. I can't believe he's in such good shape.

Additionally, its really awesome to see that Karen Allen is making a comeback. Brilliant move there. I love when supporting characters make sequential appearances. It will be really funny to see how how Ford and Allen act towards each other. I imagine after filming the lost ark, they forgot what chemistry they had and had to find it all over again.

I am freaking excited for this movie.

Hopefully he fell into a deep hole and never came up...

Anyways, that title. Sounds promising, but it doesn't exactly roll of the tongue, does it?

Top Dollar Sep 11, 2007 03:38 PM

Hm, the title seems kinda bulky to me. TEMPLE OF DOOM. Check. LAST CRUSADE. Check. RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Check even that. But "...and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull"...somehow I think, even "...and the Crystal Skull" alone would sound better. But what the hell, it's still not a Motoi Sakuraba track title, so what am I complaining.

Anyway, for a film music enthusiast like me, a new Indy movie also means a new Indy score by John Williams. Call me excited.

rpgcrazied Oct 3, 2007 11:52 AM

heh.. someone stole computers and photos from this movie.

Even though the title's been out for a while, I still like to pick it apart a bit. In response to Top Dollar, I think the inclusion of "Kingdom" could be there for a reason, and perhaps may suggest that they will be in the kingdom sooner in the film (more how they got to the Temple of Doom soon, versus the time it took to get to the Canyon of the Crescent Moon in Last Crusade).

That in mind, I don't think this throws out Atlantis at all, and in fact, could be a very thrilling conclusion to the series, even if it's years after the first 3.

Could a mod edit the thread title to include the full title? <3

rpgcrazied Oct 6, 2007 07:43 PM

I wonder if its gonna delay the movie now, hopefully they had backups :)

dagget Nov 16, 2007 08:39 PM

Sorry to bump this, but I have to ask. Rumors abound that Beowulf will be having the first teaser trailer for Indy 4. Can anyone confirm this? Dave's Trailer Page is down and I'm not able to see if it was updated with the teaser.

No. Hard Pass. Nov 16, 2007 08:40 PM

That's what I've been hearing Dagget, though I don't know if it was made official or not.

At least the movie takes place later than 1940, and their ages will actually make sense. It would have been horrible if they had been like "What do you mean he looks older? He's exactly the same."

I agree with your comment though...Karen Allen + Harrison Ford = Awesome. The only thing that I'll miss are the Nazis....I mean, can you really get any nastier bad guys?

No. Hard Pass. Nov 20, 2007 10:16 PM

Is it bad that I'm more jazzed by the promise of Lego Indiana Jones than I am for Indiana Jones 4?

Diversion Nov 28, 2007 02:18 PM

An absolutely awful cameo rumor came up on Rotten Tomatoes, but a LOT of people are calling BS on it. Potential big spoiler, as absurd sounding as it may be.

Spoiler: Follow Link...

I read he's doing his own stunts, and I don't care how good of shape you're in, if you're 65 doing your own stunts, youbetter have a medical team near by!
