My GPU is running at 160 degrees F.
Is that normal..? I just got this computer Monday.
My vid card is a 8800GTX. My CPU is running at 95(which it's got up to 100.1). I'd really hate to see my electric bill <_<. |
160 Fahrenheit is 71 celsius so I say thats normal, if not pretty low.
95F (35C) for a CPU is definetaly pretty low however. |
These temps are not anywhere near when you should start worrying.
And you should have thought about your electric bill when you bought the 8800GTX, but not as much as if youhad bought a 2900XTX :) |
Just making sure. Lost my last computer(mobo died), and I'm pretty cautious about this one.
|
I'm not sure what you're using to monitor the temperatures, but I suggest you change them from F to Celsius. Everyone uses Celsius for comparing and practical usage. And I'm assuming your GPU is running at 71 under load? Because if it's at 71 and it's not doing anything... O_O
|
Yes, if that's idle, then 71 is too high.
|
Don't worry about the 8800 series temps. I spoke with an EVGA rep, and he said that temps in the ~90s (C) are normal, and nothing to be concerned about. My 8800GTS idles at about 65C and loads at roughly 90C.
