So, how bouts that E3?
As an avid RPG fan, I have to say that E3 bored the hell out of me. I didn't see anything that really caught my eye, but my tastes aren't the only tastes out there.
Did anything grab you by the balls (or, for the ladies, other equipment) and make you take notice? |
E3 2007 more like MASSIVE FIRST PERSON SHOOTER SHOW OF 2007.
Man, that was just ridiculous. Too bad Nintendo didn't come to the rescue, but instead gave us the most boring press conference ever. The only positive thing to come out of this year's show was the almost immediate availability of HD quality trailers. I still remember having to watch crappy cam footage of Metal Gear Solid trailers for weeks and weeks following the event. |
This new cut down joke version of E3 was pretty terrible, I hope they don't bother at all next year. Besides, there were no pot plant games announced. :(

Nothing huge or exciting for this year's E3 (honestly, with the last two years of E3 being dedicated to next-gen console presentations, I wouldn't expect this year's to be anything major), but a few notable occurances. The Killzone 2 showing was pretty nice, the PSP redesign was certainly a pleasent surprise (as was the earlier-reported 60GB PS3 pricedrop), the WiiFit pad looked like it had potential to be used for some kind of worthwhile purpose in the future (not that they actually showed anything worthwhile that can be done with it during the presentation), and of course lots of game trailers and the obligatory MGS4 showing. Oh, and the playable "E3" demos on the Xbox 360 marketplace are always a nice touch.
Overall, nothing groundbreaking, but satisfactory. Although this was basically only half of "E3", since the E for All Expo is coming in October. |
Well, to me this year's E3 didn't have enough on what to look forward too. Yeh sure, there's H alo 3, Killzone, WiiFit, Mario Kart and etc, but beyond that where were the "out-of-nowhere" kind of announcements? And WHERE THE HELL ARE MY SMASH BROS./F-ZERO DS games, NINTENDO???
Companies favored E3's new, small and compact style. Hence the lack of OMG WTF *girly skipping* news and reactions we got in E3 06. Meh. See you guys next year eh? |

Yeah, looks like we'll have to wait until next months TGS '07. I think it's safe to say that won't be dominated by shootan game announcements.
|
halol 3 trailer tickled my fangroin just the right way, and I was pleased to see release dates for Brawl and Mario Galaxy.
Everything else was pretty indifferent to me. Killzone 2 code in playable form was a surprise, but the actual trailer failed to actually excite me in any kind of way. MGS4 trailer was also one big "..." |
Nothing for me. In truth, the E3's have not excited me for the last three years or so. I remember three years ago thinking about going to one, but now...just nothing exciting.
|
I heard they decided to cut to an advert break in the middle of Halo 3 or something? :tpg:
edit: tee hee word filters |
I thought E3 2007 was pretty damn awesome. And I'm no FPS fan by far. Drake's Fortune, Assassin's Creed, Force Unleashed, Lost Odyssey, Lair, The Simpsons, Spider-man, Dynasty Warriors GUNDAM, Last Remnant...
In which direction were you guys exactly looking at?! |
E3 was ok. I did get pretty excited over what Sony had to show. All those games made me feel better about forking out money for a PS3. And the new PSP will have the ability I always wanted: TV hookup ability.
|
The last time E3 was interesting the Dreamcast was still on the market
This year most of the upcoming games for consoles did not make a show appearance... just the stuff that'll likely make it out this year and we have played demos of or seen more of online... on the up side we got 10 seconds of RE5 and uh Wii Fit.... I rate this years E3 a .1 |
The PSP redesign was nice; that was pretty much it. I wasn't expecting much anyway, though. TGS, don't disappoint!
