USB Not Being Installed (MP3 Player)

Heya,

I have a MP3 player placed on MTP mode - I'm trying to "sync" and make a playlist from WMP but it's not working

I got media center win xp, USB Port 2.0 and WMP v11. Whenever I put in my mp3 player it recognizes a new hardware... when I try to install it I get an error

The MP3 player did not come with an installation disk and works fine on my super old computer that has a USB Port of 1.X

Any ideas what's wrong? I remember it used to work on this computer

What type of MP3 player is it? You might need to update your drivers. You will probably have to search for them, since you don't have an instillation disc.

It's a Sandisk Sansa c140... how exactly do I update this driver? 'cause on MSC mode (Mass Storage Class) it reads the MP3 player but on MTP mode it can't (detects MTP Device but can't install it oO).... and I need it in MTP mode

Use device manager to update your drivers, and use the 'Have Disk' option to specify a particular driver. You will have to browse Sandisk's website to find it.

Under USB in device manager it is all "up to date"... so not sure what else to do? So I need to get a disk or something from their site... but the mp3 player worked before on this computer fine (on MTP mode) but now it doesn't.... and it works fine on my 5 year old computer oO

Could there be an error or something with this computer? If so how should I go on about finding it?

Maybe plug it in to another USB port?

^Didn't work :(

But one interesting thing... with WMP11 the MP3 didn't read the MTP mode... but with WMP10 it did... but the MP3 player folder is EMPTY! Any ideas?
