PC won't go into BIOS

As the thread title says, my computer refuses to go into the BIOS. This happened several minutes after I plugged in and used an air conditioner I haven't used in several years. Since the motherboard has diagnostic LEDs, it was pretty easy to find out, but here's the guide:
Quote:

4 LEDs on = Power applied, checking CPU
3 LEDs on = CPU has been detected OK, checking RAM
2 LEDs on = RAM has been detected OK, checking VGA
1 LED on = VGA has been detected OK, entering BIOS
0 LEDs on = System has booted to the operating system
I'm stuck at the one in red. I have no idea what the sudden loss of power did, but it seems like it wiped the BIOS. Moving the jumper over to reset it didn't help and was wondering if there's anything I can do short of getting another motherboard.

Anyone know what I should do?

Doesn't sound too good to me. I thought though you could (sometimes) get a new chip from the makers of your motherboard. Not sure if that will work though.

'Tis cheaper to just buy a new motherboard, mortis!

Damn, so a motherboard replacement is in order?

Offhand, yes.

It's more likely your mobo died rather than your power supply.

Well, the power supply is fine since that's one of the first things the motherboard apparently checks for when it's going through that process. Anyone have any good recommendations for mobos?

We'll need to know a few things first:

-CPU and socket
-RAM type and speed
-VGA slot type

AMD X2 4800
2 GB DDR PC3200(2x 1024)
PCI-E x16 (two of them, even though I only have one video card).

Y'know, this seems really stupid... but have you tried unplugging the AC and seeing if that's the problem?

Oftentimes it's the really stupid stuff that makes no sense that works =\

Could be, but his motherboard is blinking and stuffs :p
