ZXA Tunes Rockman ZX Advent Soundtrack

http://www.gmronline.com/info.asp?Ca...r=INTIR-010~11

Whoa, time goes by so fast. I knew a new Rockman ZX was in development, but it was announced so quickly. And now the "soundtrack" is scheduled for august 30th 2007. By the title, we can easily make a comparison with ZX Tunes, so expect new arranged tracks. KAHORI, PLEASE HEAR ME AND START TAKING PREORDERS!

hehe, yeah, I e-mailed her a couple days ago asking her to stock this. I'm sure she will. Doesn't seem that long ago that the first album came out so this is a very pleasant surprise. ZX Tunes, along with Remastered Tracks Idea, are my top 2 in this series of albums. I'm hoping for big things from this installment.

Having this and the new King of Fighters Maximum Impact soundtrack added to GMR recently has made me a very happy little VGM fan. ZX Tunes has plenty of tracks that are flat-out amazing and I'd be happy with something that even comes close to what it put out. Hell, a spiritual successor to "Brilliant Show Window" would be more than enough.

BTW, any word of a rip of ZX Advent yet? I remember the ZX rip was what got me excited about ZX Tunes to begin with.

Rockman Jul 12, 2007 01:24 PM

I definitely think ZXA Tunes will be worth it. Hopefully it includes that Vocal Song at the end. Some of the music from ZX returns in this game. As for the new music. There's some BGM I really liked for it in certain stages.

And the Best thing about this game I thought?

It's a Minigame that's almost like the ZX Intro Stage with a different level design once you beat ZXA. Besides that, the BGM is an 8-Bit-esque reindition of the ZX Intro Stage too, the only problem with it is that it doesn't sound like an NES BGM or SE like the original Rockman Series. I'll definitely purchase ZXA Tunes if this is on it.

There's one at Rockman Perfect Memories, which was ripped by Heatman of Atomic Fire. It has some really awesome music.

I actually unlocked Rockman Antique before AF's Rip and the confirmation of ZXA Tunes. I'm just definitely glad to see it on there though. I didn't bother to make any kind of Rip. Too lazy for Line-In, plus there seems there are better ways of ripping DS Music now. =p

ZXA Tunes Details:
  • 32 Tunes Remastered Recordings which were used for Rockman ZX Advent, 37 Total Tracks in All
  • Perfect Recording of, "Mirai e Tsuzuku Kaze" and Full Chorus Version (Vocals by Toru Itoga)
  • A ZXA Image Song, "GO FOR IT!" (Vocals by Kaoru Akiyama)

What I posted on the Rockman Site I work at, the e-Capcom Bonus will also the Mouse Pad shown above. Hopefully this makes it to VGMWorld so I don't have to scatter around for it on YJ Auctions. I do know I definitely have to snatch this one up now along with ZX Tunes to catch up with my Zero Series Inti Creates CDs.

I also hope Suleputer releases a Ryuusei no Rockman 1+2 Compilation one of these months next year, or maybe a ZX+ZX Advent Set. I'm dying to know what March Rockman CD Suleputer will publish. T_T

VGMWorld is now taking preorders. With the bonus !

And if you submit a review of other Rockman remastered tracks albums you own, it says you have a chance to get a special gift...... I wonder what gift she's referring to...

Kaleb.G Jul 27, 2007 07:21 PM

I tried grabbing the RZXA game rip from Atomic Fire the other day and it was password protected. Anyone know where I can get it?

UPDATE: I fount the torrent at Atomic Fire:

I think the surprising thing about this is how fast ZXA Tunes is coming out. Although the music for Rockman ZX:Advent is as memorable as Rockman ZX's music, there were a couple of great songs in there like Ashe and Grey's intro stage music, Deerburn's stage music, Rospark's stage music, and the music that plays when Vent and Aile Double Rock On. The 8-Bit renditions of Area A and the Boss Battle from Rockman ZX were pretty cool too.

Kaleb.G Aug 3, 2007 01:23 PM

Track list is up:
http://www.inti.co.jp/cd/zxa/index.htm

I already put it on GMR.

Lacerta Aug 3, 2007 01:54 PM

Well, it's no writing board, but I can find a use for a mouse pad most definitely.

I think I'll go ahead and pre-order this. ZXA had some memorable music that I'd want to hear their remastered take on.

Nintendonomicon Aug 30, 2007 12:14 AM

So, is this one out already?
Does anyone have it?

Kaleb.G Aug 31, 2007 01:12 PM

Nothing at Atomic Fire or #gamemp3s yet. I'll assume that a rip should be showing up soon, but in the off chance that it doesn't, I'll share my copy as soon as it arrives (I had pre-ordered it from VGM World).

Ceft Sep 1, 2007 07:30 PM

Check this Rockman Perfect Memories thread. The Sendspace link is working, but not the Megaupload one.

EDIT: You can also get it from Atomic Fire. Just check the "ZXA Tunes Download" article on the main page.

Thanks...The way this year's been for VGM releases, I wanted to hear this before getting a hard copy, but I was wrong to doubt the Zero/ZX arranging team...This is right up to par with the previous albums (or at least with ZX Tunes and Physis/Idea). The male singer kinda sucks and there's a couple slow/boring tracks near the end (but also the killer "Soul Ablaze", so that makes up for it), but overall, this one will grow on me. I don't know if it's me or if there's a difference from prior albums, but I really like the synth in this one too...It has a nice pleasant bite to it.

Love the classic MM feel "Twisted Vine" has going for it. That and "Soul Ablaze" are my early favorites so far...

Yeah, Twisted Vine somewhat reminded me of the Rockman X arrange album, especially the when it loops with the guitars.

Anyway, I'm sorta disappointed with ZXA Tunes. I was hoping for better arranges for a lot of the tracks, and there aren't even awesome guest arrangements like in ZX Tunes. I'm not saying it's a bad album; it's actually pretty good, but it fails to please my expectations. :( Oh well, at least the Rockman a (antique) Remix is killer.

Kaleb.G Sep 5, 2007 04:59 PM

I'm pleased with ZXA Tunes overall. The OST grew on me after several listens, so it's hard for the arrange album to disappoint. The arrangements are on par for the series, and managed to avoid the problem that ZX Tunes had where some of the tracks had instruments samples that reeked of DS quality. I think the best thing about the arrangement work in ZXA Tunes is that several of the skippable OST tracks got boosted up to a quite listenable status. An easy example (although not originally bad; just short), is "Dive into Depth", which has a full new melody now.

I'm only disappointed that certain instruments were removed or changed for the worse in a few tracks. For instance, the SD3-esque sounding instrument near the beginning of "Through the Lightning" was replaced with something much less interesting. Also, the awesome flute lead on the chorus section in "Whispers of Relics" was taken out; ruining the intensity and harmony of that section. And even "Drifting Floe" seemed to have more bass "oomph" to it on the DS. I'll get over it though. I still have the DS rip anyway.

ZX Tunes is indeed better than ZXA Tunes. But there are still enough great new tracks here that make it a worthwhile purchase.

bishop743 Sep 6, 2007 04:18 PM

This album is nowhere near on the level that ZX Tunes is on. There are several good tracks but I can't listen to this album all the way through, which I could do easily with ZX Tunes. I really do like "Trap Phantasm", which is a great new rendition of "Trap Factory" from ZX Tunes.

"Target Chaser", "Bullet Drive", "Overloaded", and "Dance Macabre -Second Act-" are some of my other favorites. The "Rockman a (antique) Remix" track is pretty damn good too.

Like Kaleb said, it pales in comparison to ZX Tunes, but there are plenty of decent tracks to make it worthwhile.

Torte Sep 7, 2007 08:35 AM

Awesome! Now all I need is the game. So there are different tracks for both Ashe's and Grey's levels? Woah!

arch_slayer Sep 7, 2007 11:40 AM

I was particularly surprised by the chinese vocal track in the soundtrack, but besides that, this OST has really grown on me, like any Rockman ost =D

mortis Sep 19, 2007 12:31 AM

Chinese vocal track, huh? Now I'm interested in seeing if I can understand it...

Rotorblade Dec 27, 2007 04:40 AM

Hate to wake the dead on this one, but I never got a chance to give my thoughts on this album. I've followed the Remastered series of albums since the initial release of Remastered Tracks: Rockman Zero. Even though I have nothing in comparison to the wealth of knowledge that those in the community here possess, regarding both video game music and music in general... I still had high hopes for this album.

I was kind of sad to not see it mentioned here, but my favorite track from this album is Destiny from the Grey disc. The last time I felt this way about a track was when I first heard "Departure" in-game Rockman Zero 2. The arrangement is how I feel Green Grass Gradation should have been handled, considering how subdued it felt in ZX Tunes, Destiny is vindication.

I have never quite felt the vocal tracks of these albums, so I'd say that'd be the low point of the album for me. They don't break any conventions or change my mind regarding these kinds of contributions.

Anyway, I just want to say, I was one of the winners of the VGM World giveaway. I receieved Prize B, the folder set. The prizes were mostly Ryuusei no Rockman related, but there was a nice 20th anniversary folder in the bunch and the art is still pleasing as ever. The second reason I post this is just to let you lucky folks know I'll be scanning the stuff since there's art that hasn't been released elsewhere as far as I know.

I won Prize A but honestly I think the other prizes looked more interesting.

Rotorblade Dec 27, 2007 03:50 PM

The folder set has the 20th anniversary mosaic picture and then several Ryuusei no Rockman folders. I regret not being able to enter the December 19th contest, but this was just as special. Considering I had to wait 15 months to lay hands on both the prize I won and album I purchased, it was worth it.
