REC is a cute little romance story, notable for its unique broadcast style (9 episodes (?) at 12 minutes each). Each episode is generally light-hearted fun, but there are occasional thoughtful moments. Also of note is the fact that the voice actors for the two leads are relative newbies to the industry, which kind of gives Aka's character a bit of authenticity.

Althought the series is a romantic comedy of sorts, the fanservice rating is pretty low -- good for all you prudes out there. It's a short and sweet series, so give it a try.

about time someone makes this thread. for an 11 min show, its not so bad. i kinda like it more than kurumi. The way aka onda uses hepburn quotes is kinda cute.. i hope her and matsumaro get together in the end. i heard its only 9 episodes =/.

It's a nice little show. I started watching it last night and breezed through the episodes. I wish it was a full series though. :( Aka is love.

I've been watching Anime-United's releases of REC because they're quick for release and I need my REC fix. Saw episode seven this morning and the series is still going strong.

I know Lunar and Anime-United (as well as a few other groups) are releasing REC, but Ayu is the group I follow so that's who I put on the topic post. <_<

Anime United's quality isn't good at all. Looking at episode 7 with all that fuzziness and bad subs just bothers me at times. It didn't stop me from watching it , though ^^;.

Yeah, they're speed subbers but they're not terrible. I recommend Ayu or Lunar if you are going to keep or burn this anime off onto cd/dvd. Saka don't bother with linking to anyone besides Ayu or Lunar. If people want to watch ahead they should be smart enough to follow tokyotoshokan or baka-updates.

Going with Lunar, even thou they are a bit behind... I still have faith that they can finish the 9 eps ^_^

The manga of REC goes further than that, and its worth reading too ;)

I am shocked at the lack of conversation for this excellent series. Oh well.

But seriously, I think everyone should watch REC, and I think most would enjoy it, unless you're some sort of commie against everything <3.

What I want to know is, is REC seriously only 9 episodes. Because if it is, that would be a crime against humanity.

Also, I hate how I've only found the first chapter of the manga translated, but nothing else (and even the group that did it mentions nothing of it!)

At least they aren't half-hour long episodes. I've hardly got any free time and I'm spending it watching these o__O; I'll see 3-7 tonite~

Give the manga time. It has got four graphic novels out thus far (according to www.gotlurk.net). The ones for download on UR|DAN are raws, by the by.

Other chapters'll get scanslated. The anime will develop a fanbase soon =d

i always wondered about the voice action world in japan nice to finally see an anime about it

Yeah, all that's been released so far music-wise is the OP single and the REC Character Song - Aka Onda. Both of which you can grab from Nipponsei's torrent page. I'm not sure when the OST is being released or if there is going to be one.

I agree also that nine episodes is far too short considering that the episodes are a mere twelve minutes long. Here's hoping for another season. We need moar Aka, after all.

Time to bring this thread back to life. The 8th episode is out. Im going to watch it once my girl friends leave my place.

Wow, episode 8 just ended on such a sour note. They just keep on going back and forth on everything.

At least they're making it obvious that there's going to be more than 9 episodes, there's seriously no way they could recover in just episode 9.

haha. It's about time Matsumaru told Aka to shut up with the movie lines. The 9th episode will be the last one. If they find a way to cover it up in 10 mins, then thats fine. I wish it were actually a 23 min episode.

Nah, they won't finish it up with this pacing.

They might be taking it slow to make sure they can keep up with the manga, and won't have to ad lib anything in the future.

edit : OKEHHHHH everyone. This deserves to be continued but i want episodes to be in the length of 23 mins >.>. The writer has alot of potential to make this longer. I guess thats what i liked about it,though. He made it 11 mins long for 9 episodes and didn't rush anything.

I hope Ayu can sub this episode asap.
