Fargo Confirms It! [ Game -> Update ] Posted by King of Creation | Related News Items Thu 21 Jun 2007, 10:08 PM More info on Person: Brian Fargo | More info on Game: Wasteland 2 A few days ago, we reported that Brian Fargo might, in fact, be working on a successor to Wasteland. The boards were abuzz with speculation and hope. Well, we got word from the man himself. Brian Fargo, the founder of Interplay and the producer of the original Wasteland, told DAC the following: Quote:
Stay tuned we will. ------------- RPG Codex Admin and AoD project lead Vault Dweller summed up what's known so far: ------------- http://rpgcodex.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=384871#384871 Brian Fargo, the man who founded and lost Interplay (due to the "declining PC market"), and later founded inXile Entertainment, responsible for the Bard's Tale massacre, has confirmed that he's "indeed looking into bringing back the game that spawned the Fallout series". Considering that: a) inXile got the Wasteland license in 2003 b) inXile released the Bard's Tale in 2004 and started working on an announced project. c) 1UP Managing Editor Garnett Lee said: "I think we are going to see a spiritual successor to Fallout One and Two from the guy who originally did Wasteland, and I'm just going to leave it at that." It would be reasonable to see the game's announcement soon. ------------- After what happened to Bard's Tale I don't know what to think. Here's hoping. |
Looks like they're pulling a... I'll call it a "Bioshock." Would you call this "vindication" if it does happen, Brady?

We may soon have 2 post-apocalyptic games? Sweet. I never played Wastelands but I believe you can get it from Home of the Underdogs or other sites. It's definitely a game from "days of yore." It was actually available on one of those box sets for PC though iirc.
