The Wolf Man Remake.

From IMBD:

"Traffic Oscar-winner Benicio Del Toro is set to play a classic movie monster in the big screen remake of The Wolf Man. The Sin City actor will star in and co-produce the new version of the horror film. Like the original film, which starred Lon Chaney Jr., the remake will be set in Victorian England. Se7en writer Andrew Kevin Walker has started working on the script for the film. Shooting is scheduled to begin early next year, once Del Toro completes work on the Che Guevara biopic Guerrilla. The film will be released in 2008."

I know people are sick of remakes and the original of this is a classic to a lot of people, but at least we got 1 good actor so far and a good writer IMO.

Has potentional, and it's not like the Werewolf is exactly unique to the original film. It has my interest at the moment, and doesn't look to be going the tongue and cheek Mummy/Mummy Returns approach, which is always a plus.

I hope it looks less like the original make-up (like a flat-faced hairy greaseball) and more like an actual werewolf.

Shameless hope for a furry, I know. Especially since turning into a werewolf is supposed to be "bad," so they'll make the costume look as gross as possible.

Seriously, anyone who regards the first movie as a classic is questionable. Universal had been pushing their pre-war monster films more and more, and Dracula and Frankenstein were decent pictures because of the strong source material, but The Wolf Man was just Chaney with out of control sideburns. I could see this remake being good though. Benicio Del Toro has a pretty good sense for what will and won't work, I think.
