iPod trouble! (Pretend shocked)

I've put some of my "purchases" on my iPod (some is legit) a while back and let it collect dust.

I got it back out this week and hooked it up to my new PC. I authorized it to be my 2nd of 5 PCs. I downloaded some (video)podcasts and wanted to add them. Of course I have the "manually add" selected.

This guy on another forum nailed it on the head and I'm trying to check to see if I can manually manage the contents of the iPod so I can get the podcasts under podcasts and the video under video and....etc.

Regarding the downloading of podcasts from two different computers to one iPod, you CAN do it. Just do the Manually Manage Music and Video, then drag and drop your downloaded podcast episode right onto your iPod. Now here's the incredibly stupid part. Your podcast is now on your iPod, BUT only when you go to your Playlist->Recently Added. iTunes 7 will NOT add the new podcast you downloaded into your Podcast directory.
So the podcasts show up in iTunes. I have to drag them onto the iPod. They all get listed under the music "recently added." Halp!

Perhaps try a different piece of software to manager your podcasts? I imagine someone out there has to have made a tool for Winamp or Foobar.

Absolutely everything I put on it goes into the recently added.

But I found the Winamp plugin that automatically makes each of the categories for the iPod so that when I drag things to it, I can put there where they belong. Not sure how that worked out, but it seems I've figured it out.

Unless someone knows of good third party software to manage files, iTunes seems to work for now.

Do you use the setting in iTunes that says something like "Automatically Sync Podcasts (Selected or All)"?

That works for me.
