Roommates

This topic does not apply to family members. If you haven't moved out of your family's house yet then there's no reason for you to reply to this thread... well, unless you guys rent out rooms in your house.

So what's your opinion on roommates? Everyone tell me they're awful and to avoid them, but in my experience, it just takes the right combination. I've had my share of both decent and shitty roommates. I think it really depends on the people. Then again, I've only had one roommate that I didn't mind living with - I'm going to be moving in with him again shortly. All the others just had no respect.

For example, when I lived in Orange County, I shared a room with a 50-year-old Vietnam veteran (he'd remind us everyday). Every single god damned night he'd put his blanket over his head, squeeze a lotion bottle (I could hear it), and talk to himself while masturbating loud as fuck. I could literally hear the fap of his dick and hand. That wet smacking sound with the lotion. Blah. He was louder than hell when he came too. "OH YEAH OH YEAH OH YEAH... ahhh~"

What a dick.

Well, thats just nasty Divest. I feel sorry for you. I had a roomate unintentionally once. My buddy, known him since grade 6, came over one day. He was like 'can I crash here for the night?'. And then the next night he said the same thing. 3 months later, he's still saying the same thing. So I made him pay some rent. He stopped coming over. lol. Other than that, my brother lives with me in my apartment. We get along okay. Kinda a bad combination because niether of us are neat freaks. The apartment is a giant mess. But otherwise we stay out of eachothers hair and we're fine.

You mean you didn't pick up on it after, oh I don't know, the first month, or so?

Ive roomed with two different guys. The first one was a guy I had been friends with for a long time. Every night I would just crash on one of the couches, and then we would wake up about noon and make ramen and play whatever on the computer. It was pretty cool. (It was also nice because he had a 2 bedroom house that was basically the hang out for our group of friends, we had digital cable, 15mbps internet, and water. It was also right on the gulf. (I live in fl.)) heh, there was also a network I built and 6 custom built computers. It was pretty amazing.

Then I stayed with a friend from school because I was having issues at home. it was alright, but I soon found out I didn't want to stay there long. The guy was immature as fuck. He would be trying to set up epsx (or whatever the PS1 emu is called.) and he found out he had to download a bios and shit for it.... "Motherfuck this fucking pisses me off. *throws controller to ground (hard enough to break it I might add.) and punches monitor* Nothing fucking works for me. I'm going out. *takes keys and slams door behind him*"'

Oh well :\

Over all, I would say rooming with a friend is cool, but only if you know the person well before hand.
