[SOLVED] Journal user name in "Who's online?"

I'm not sure if this was suggested elsewhere before, so this can be closed if it is.

I noticed that, when I happen to look at the Who's Online list, anything related to the journals is listed as "Chocojournal Comments", or just "Chocojournal". However, when I click the link it directs me to the journal which is assume is the journal they were viewing at the time.

So I'm wondering if it is possible to add the journal name someone's browsing in the Who's Online list?

Bigblah Jun 6, 2007 02:50 PM

Yeah, it is.

Everyone else: any objections?

Kensaki Jun 6, 2007 02:58 PM

I'm not the most active person around but I see no harm in this.

Xardion Jun 6, 2007 05:33 PM

I can see why people would have a problem with this, but fuck them.

Doesn't this just reduce the amount of steps required to e-stalk somebody by one?

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint Jun 6, 2007 09:26 PM

I don't really see the point; the end result is the same, you just save yourself one click.

Kensaki Jun 6, 2007 09:29 PM

Why do we need to do that click? If its not a hassle to make it visible who's journal someone is commenting on?

Sarag Jun 7, 2007 08:20 AM

I have no objections. I think Ulysses post is dumb, if it saves one click and it's not a problem to do, then do it.

russ Jun 7, 2007 08:28 AM

If you're e-stalking more than one person, you save yourself more than just a click. I mean geez, let's think about that dude who is e-stalking like a dozen or so members here. That dude will save a whole lot of time. That's time he could spend doing whatever he does when he's not e-stalking people you know.

It's not dumb if you perceive the benefit that results from this change to be so trivial it isn't worth even the small effort required to implement. I think it's safe to say that if polled, most members wouldn't consider the implementation of this "feature" to be of pivotal importance, nor would they bring it up in a list of top ten most-wanted additions. I think that would be pretty obvious unless, you know, you're dumb. Still, it's not my time so he can do whatever he likes.

YES I KNOW THIS IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MY TIME RITE

Also removed the world map plot from Who's Online because it looks like total ass.

I don't really consider it a "feature", more like a tweak or something.

Awesome, Blah. Thanks. <3

If you're counting time such that an hour of dicking around while waiting for /b/ to get active* is a waste of your time, then you're a pretty busy fella!

I'm just saying that I don't reckon many people are passionate about it, but those who have a stronger than neutral opinion will probably lean towards 'yeah that'd be a good idea, I mean, it's kinda a bother and anyway the board reports who's reading what thread and that could be used for the dreaded e-stalking'

Verdict: dumb opinion. There will be no appeals.

* don't even deny it blah

Bigblah Jun 8, 2007 10:27 AM

I DENY IT

RacinReaver Jun 8, 2007 11:32 AM

He was waiting for /y to get active. :(

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint Jun 8, 2007 12:06 PM

It's not a dumb just because you are too impudent to entertain an alternative opinion. It appears as though it will take a few more hours of "dicking" to get the bugs out, if the "Who's Online" page is anything to go by.

Sarag Jun 8, 2007 01:33 PM

Whoa, I'm impudent because I think making users go through unnecessary steps for simple information is dumb?

Bigblah Jun 8, 2007 02:15 PM

Quite fittingly I must now go through the simple additional step of asking for a bug report

gaara-chan Jun 8, 2007 02:50 PM

Well, erm. I can't see any links.

"Bigblah Viewing Journal". That's all.

Bigblah Jun 8, 2007 03:18 PM

Oh, permissions problem.

Fixed!

I will now save myself the simple additional step of asking for more bug reports by actually checking with a normal user account!

So basically you have a dupe account. :eye:

Xardion Jun 8, 2007 04:01 PM

You say that like you want us to think you don't.

Bigblah Jun 8, 2007 04:01 PM

I just use falkon2's :33:
