Orange You Glad You Don't Look Like Lindsay?

http://newsbloggers.aol.com/2007/05/...om-one-to-tan/

Crazy mom pays $1300 for her kid to look like Lindsay Lohan via a deep orange tan.

The hell was this lady thinking? What really stuck out was when the little girl was like "I really don't want to do this" and the mom was all "Well you have to" almost like a freaking stage mom. Watching this kinda makes me wanna smack her around a fair bit. :P

You ever come across any parents who doll their kids up like this and what do you think of it?

Fleshy Fun-Bridge Jun 2, 2007 01:40 PM

Irony.

I saw that video, and it just made me shake my head and think how small must these people's lives be that this is how they find meaning?

Its like the mother is trying to live out her own failed dreams through her daughter.

Slap on a fancy name to anything and you can sell it for more than it's worth. That woman deserved to be taken advantage of by the sales guy, the guy knew what he was doing.

Hope that $1300 is worth all the tears your daughter will cry when all the kids at school call her an OompaLoompa you crazy bitch

Hell, seeing that reminded me of a girl I went to high school with.

She had a natural tan, but when the final picture came out--she was orange!

Tanning is NOT a good thing for pictures for school.

I think any parent would've said she had to at that point. The daughter excitedly agreed not once, but twice and the mother had already paid $1300. Plus she was scared of the spraying part, which means she'd already done the bed part of the process. Don't get me wrong, the mother's a nut too, but the little girl isn't completely innocent and being forced into this either.

Why Am I Allowed to Have Gray Paint Jun 2, 2007 02:48 PM

STOP LIVING VICARIOUSLY THROUGH YOUR CHILD >:-(. The mother doesn't really have her priorities right, and the kid looks like she'll grow up to be a Stepford wife, with that monotonous voice and welded-on smile. I don't think tans look good on people when the skin is darker than the hair. Especially on a blonde it just look silly.

Chaotic Jun 2, 2007 03:04 PM

Why the hell would you pay $1300 for something you could do outside your own home for free? It's LA isn't it?

Zip Jun 2, 2007 03:50 PM

Why Lohan of all celebs? She's one of Hollywoods dumbest and sluttiest. Next she will start calling the kid fire crotch.

RacinReaver Jun 2, 2007 04:11 PM

I was all confused about how this could happen until he said it was in LA.

Not even Jack Bauer can stop this kind of terrorism. :(

Because that would actually require logic. If you want your daughter to look akin to Lindsey Lohan then you're obviously lacking in the common sense department. "Yay my daughter looks like a crack addict!" >.>;

Not to mention the majority of people wanting things direct despite the health risks or the cost, or the fact that an orange glow does not look good.

Tip-Tup Jun 2, 2007 05:00 PM

:smack: Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid mother!! When did looking like a tangerine become attractive? And why in the ever loving universe would you prop up Lindsey-I'm-not-addicted-okay-maybe-just-to-coke-Lohan as a role model?

Parents these days... The girl may have gone along with it at first, but the mom could have just said NO.

Ceres Jun 2, 2007 05:21 PM

the mom was the one that was all GUNG-HO about it. What kid cares if they look a little pale in their pictures. What kid even NOTICES it.

I doubt the mother had any idea that her child would come out of the process looking like a walking carrot. As I maintain, slapping on a fancy name will make you buy anything. Hearing the name "Lindsey Lohan" was cleverly mentioned by the salesman because it would grab any little girls attention.

Or at least any little girl that has been corrupted by her psycho-bitch-mother in thinking that looking like a movie star is everything.

Because that $1300 gets you an instant tan--instead of doing it naturally....

Mom could have saved a huge chunk of change if she had bought Neutrogena's instant tanning products.

Idiot.

But, also, here's a question....Isn't there a minimum age for tanning beds? I mean, it IS basically an oven.....

Even if there is, at $1300 I don't think the salon would care.

haha gotta love the poll under the vid..

and all of this year I could have looked like Lindsey Lohan and I never took that chance.. WHAT WAS I THINKING? My life is ruined.

I question which is the biggest offender - the mother for doing this, the internet media for telling us or for us to give a shit what strangers do with their shitty lives.

People are generally shallow and terrible. Why do you think we only remember those that do good or do very, very bad?

Such a Lust for Revenge! Jun 5, 2007 09:46 AM

Haha, kid looked like she was in a car wash. Thank God the internet reported this to us though! I guess the real problem here was mom wanting to live through her daughter. Shit, 1300 dollars... I can live on that much in this country a good six months.

Aardark Jun 5, 2007 09:50 AM

Why the hell were they filming this shit? Was it staged, or is it routine practice to film random people who go tanning in L.A.?

Such a Lust for Revenge! Jun 5, 2007 09:55 AM

Either way the mother had no problem with it being distributed afterwards. Almost makes me feel ashamed of my LA roots. =/
