Let's write a book!
I'm starting a collective book-writing project-experiment here, at nectarthoughts. Anyone up for joining the effort? All I ask is that if there is no hating, and no registered-non-posting-lurkers. If you join, you have to be respectful and actually want to see this through. That said, it'll be fun!

Hm, I'm intrigued. Can you tell us more?

If you're familiar with the Heroes RP board, you'll understand the setup quite easily. Everyone creates a character (or a few), and start writing. It takes place in the real world, aka no sci-fi or fantasy, but where and what happens are completely up in the air as of now. It's all up to everyone who wants to write, really. |
This sort of reminds me of that game where you're sitting around the campfire and each person says a sentence to make a story or something. It sounds like a fun idea. I'd be up for it.

I participated in a few of these types of endeavors when I first went on the 'net in '95. There was one on scifi.com's web site iirc. I recall adding a line about a king fighting a giant herring or some such, and most of the other entries were similarly random. Good luck! :D

I'm in.
But one thing I don't understand: is this in the fashion of a RPG, the sentence story, or a collection of semi-related short stories? |
Hmm this sounds fun as ive always wanted to create a book but i've never had the time becauase i'm really busy because of never having any time for myself.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I am not a very good writer, but as long as I use firefox spell check I should be able to wright something readable. :P

It's RPG style. Create a character and write a sentence, a paragraph, a page or two, whatever it takes to get down your part each time. It'll be one big novel-type project, rather than a bunch of short stories. I recommend checking out Heroes (http://signus.proboards78.com/index.cgi) for a better idea of how it would work.
Site's here --> http://www.freepowerboards.com/nectarthoughts/index.php ctu: Spelling and grammar are things to work on, but we can all edit stuff we screw up on. The important part would be that one is there and writing, technicalities can be fixed if need be. |
