The Arcade Returns

I just finished uploading the arcade system onto GFF. Right now it's pretty limited to the few basic games it came with. I plan on adding more features and games to it within the next few days. Until then, enjoy what's there.

Report any bugs and give any suggestions for the arcade here. =)

nazpyro Mar 17, 2006 11:26 AM

Yay! Let the games begin. I can't wait for some of the other old ones to return. I'll keep waiting though. No suggestions from me quite yet, other than just having more of those tournaments in the future. There were like 5 ever last time.

Musharraf Mar 17, 2006 11:27 AM

I see you re-added only the best games like Chopper Challenge

Gechmir Mar 17, 2006 11:29 AM

Huh. Thought arcades would be last to get added. Figured it was trickier to implement (somehow). Oh well ;D Ratings and Chocojournal are all I can think of still missing.

I poked it and it made a sad sound Mar 17, 2006 11:53 AM

Aw, only 4 games?

Is there any way we could help or speed up the adding-of-games process for you guys? I'll offer up any help I can serve, even if I am a fucking retard.

I get bored at work, you know. ;_;

CileGray Mar 17, 2006 11:56 AM

Sass, you can't count to 5 can you...

Yea, I counted before it finished loading. Because I am a fucking moron.

Leave me alone. I had no coffee today, alright? ALRIGHT!?

;_;

How about adding Nanaca Crash again? I miss that game...it was fun....yes I said it was fun....

Animechanic Mar 17, 2006 04:41 PM

Linkage for the new Nanaca Crash 1.07 version:

http://www.geocities.jp/lledoece/nanaca-crash.html

Not sure what's actually different besides some extra text that pops up when you start and finish a run, and the nifty little velocity meter.

Bigblah Mar 17, 2006 06:43 PM

bobo, how did you modify the previous version of Nanaca Crash for inclusion in the arcade? Did you actually get the original .fla somehow?

Miles Mar 17, 2006 07:10 PM

I just uploaded a few more games to the server. I found a download with a whole bunch of them. Enjoy! =)

Franky Mikey Mar 17, 2006 07:16 PM

Typing test is cool and all, but it won't submit scores. :(

Miles Mar 17, 2006 07:27 PM

=(

Some of these games in this RAR are just crappy. I'll delete the bad ones later. I wish I could find some of the coolgames we had before.

Rydia Mar 17, 2006 07:37 PM

That typing test looks interesting. Too bad Nanaca Crash isn't on there yet.

nazpyro Mar 17, 2006 08:28 PM

That typing game is pretty fun, except after two tries, the game has failed to submit my scores :(. Awaiting the Nanaca!

Musharraf Mar 18, 2006 03:57 AM

What about Monkey Diving. When will Monkey Diving return? Or what about Guru Diving?

David Deluxe Mar 18, 2006 07:43 AM

Remove Adventure Golf. This game sucks, since you win by getting the poorest possible score. Also remove Ninja Combat. It's from Mausland after all and you can't submit your score when you finish the game. :tpg:

Infernal Monkey Mar 18, 2006 08:37 AM

Haha, man, that Bubble Bobble clone is a crime against humanity. The enemies just decide to slide through random walls and close in for the rape. ;_;

Darkcomet72 Mar 18, 2006 05:59 PM

Sometimes people are on the scoreboard multiple times. I assume it's from their multiple attempts. Is this a problem on my end or does anyone else notice this?

David Deluxe Mar 18, 2006 07:02 PM

Buggy games:

Ninja Combat: You can't submit your score once you finish the game. It's senseless to compete with others when those who clear the game loose.

Metal Slug: You don't even have to bother with anything after the first two enemies. You kill them, go back to the start, kill them again, get some health/weapons/grenades, go back again, kill them, blablabla. By doing it that way, it's somewhat impossible to die. I stopped at 15500 points because I was bored. :tpg:

Super Mario Mushroom: 8 is the maximum score --> No competition

Adventure Golf: The worst player wins by getting the poorest possible score. Nice.

Typing Test: You can't even submit your score in this game. However, the game itself is great, so it'd be sufficient to correct this little mistake.

Lousy games:

AirFox: This game is boring. And when I say boring, I mean boooooooooring. Geez, it's nearly impossible to die anyway, remove this shit and add something nice instead.

Bubble Bobble: Keep it if you want, but just as Infernal said, that Bubble Bobble clone is a crime against humanity. There's a fifty-fifty chance in hitting the enemy, sometimes they just don't want to get hit.

Classic Donkey Kong: Starman seems to like it, so do as you wish. In my opinion, this game sucks.

Contra: From what I can tell, this game only has two levels. But it sucks anyway. Play it and you'll know what I mean.

Bloody Pingu: Actually this game isn't that bad, but it's nothing compared to Nanaca Crash.

The rest is o.k., but we need more awesome games. And nothing from Mausland. Please. ;_;

nazpyro Mar 19, 2006 12:12 AM

I agree with David Deluxe on the Buggy and Lousy games (holy crap AirFox is awful). Even Tetris bugs out sometimes, like during my one run two days ago... That endless purple column just kept going from the top, never going down.

Bring back that adding game! Good times there.

And if anything from Mausland is returning, it's gotta be that Nights of Fire game and that Crazy Squirrel one.

I just played Asteroids, and after dying I reappeared on top of another asteroid and died again instantly. I'm sure it never used to do this and would wait for the middle to be empty before respawning? Or am I wrong?

That's happened to me sometimes. It usually does wait for the middle to clear, but I remember the two frustrating times that happened to me (last summer). It has yet to happen to me this time, but I'll try to screenshot it next time when it does. I'm poor at screenshotting fast enough as demonstrated by my Tetris skills above.
