Removing scartches from an LCD Monitor

Anyone know how to remove scratches from an LCD monitor? Because my brother acted like an idiot by scratching it. The only method I have ever heard was using toothpaste to remove scratches.

Rub the scratch with something soft that has been soaked with rubbing alcohol.
