Can't turn up brightness in Onimusha on ps2
 

I go into the brightness option in the menu, and no matter what buttons I press and how many times I press them, the brightness doesn't change. It's hard to explain what the brightness menu looks like, but it basically says something about adjusting the brightness until you can't see colors under a certain horizontal line.

Any ideas? Did anyone else have this problem?
