Ill

How many people can relate to a continual battle between mind and body? I constantly feel tired, and it's only by sheer willpower that I ever get anything done. Mentally I am willing to put in the effort to get things done, whether that's working or even just getting up in the mornings. My body has other ideas however. I am always shaking; not violently (well, sometimes I do) but enough to make the majority of tasks quite difficult (writing, playing the piano etc). My limbs always feel heavy as well; it's like I've been out running all night or something because when I wake up the next day I feel so fatigued it's ridiculous. It's really pissing me off because I want to get things done but I can't because of how tired I am.

Another thing is that every morning when I wake up I feel really sick. Thing is, if I tell myself over and over that I'm not ill then I can ignore the feeling, but it happens every day and I don't even know what's causing it. Does anyone have any advice?

If your feeling tired all the time, etc, Benard you should go to a sleep doctor. Anyway I'm no doctor but I'm guessing you have sleep apnea it is caused by not having enough oxygen when you sleep, I have it and it is a pain. I have some of the same symptoms as you (feeling tired even when sleeping 8+ hours, have trouble doing mental problems, feel physically fatigued). I went to see one and I got a machine, I'm in a love/hate relationship with it. I can't stand using it but if I don't I feel like crap all the time.

Anyway make a medical appointment with your doctor and see what he recommends.

I don't think you can immediately say it's sleep apnea. This is something that is serious because it's cutting into your quality of life. It appears you don't know or even have a vague notion of what exactly is causing it. When you get your next check-up include a thorough physical and bloodwork done. For things you can do right now, I would say to keep yourself mentally strong as you are doing right now. Also, eat the right kind of foods, exercise moderately, and get plenty of sleep. If you try these things, it may go away on its own.

There's all sorts of things that can cause fatigue like that and some of them can be serious. You need to see a doctor.

I think I will make an appointment; it's just that when I tell my doctor a few of the symptoms I've been experiencing, she can't find anything wrong with me, and I never know what to do afterwards. Maybe if I'm sure to outline all of the physical symptoms she might draw a different conclusion. It's been a long time since I had a check-up anyway. Thanks for the advice from all of you.

I feel in a similar way but only after napping rather than sleeping. Rather than giving me some extra energy to carry on, it makes me feel even sleepier.

In terms of my ordinary energy levels, I am lucky in that I feel that I have plenty of energy to work after sleeping properly. The reason I sometimes don't do as much as I should work wise is because I have been very lazy recently, so the fault is entirely my own.
