Anyone listen to Ozomatli?
to be honest i didnt start till another intern at UMGD started playing their new album Dont Mess with the Dragon religiously. Now Ive gone back and listened to their older albums such as Street Signs. I usually spend all my money on video games but I also spend all my money on CDs now and I just bought this DOnt Mess with the Dragon. Their myspace page has everything you need to know http://www.myspace.com/ozomatli
Im definitely a fan now and I hope I can see them live soon! |
Ozomatli (a.k.a. the Aztec god of dace)... I fucking LOVE these guys. I've been listening to them since their self-titled album came out in 1998 (which I posted quite a while back in the M.E.C. thread) and was voted the most criminally overlooked album by almost every underground hip hop site at the time. I have all their albums and I saw them live at Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood when they ended their tour of that first album in the summer of '99; right before Chali 2na and Cut Chemist of Jurassic 5 (another underground giant that sadly just broke up) left the group.
These guys put on INTENSE stage performances and I'm looking forward to seeing them again next Saturday at Coachella. <3 <3 <3 |
We play (and sell) Ozomatli at Starbucks. So I don't know that they're really flying under the radar that much. Although, most of our customers complain when it comes on because they're old and crotchety.
I like it though. |
