Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2
|
First FFT for PSP and now a new FFT for DS? Hopefully this one will have a better plot than FFTA.
What's up with that giant cockatrice? |
The FFT for the PSP is just a port PSX with new features, FFTA2 is the new game SE mentioned back in the beginning of the year.

Some new scans and the game's logo.

EDIT: We could have used the thread for Ivalice Alliance for FFTA2. No? |
I really liked the art style of FFTA...I also liked the music a whole lot. But that was about it. The structure of the game didn't really appeal to me (I still can't see how I finished that game...), i.e. the running around in circles on the map with various, and repetitive, battles. I guess I'm being a bit too harsh on the gameplay...it really wasn't that bad, but boy oh boy, the storyline sure was. I agree with the populace on that matter. Ruined much of my experience playing the game.
Hopefully the sequel will change a few things up (especially in the storyline; I hope it's more of a spiritual sequel than an actual sequel =.=") to make it a bit more...well, y'know...less tedious? |
If there's an actual plot this time, preferably one that's fairly serious, then I'll be excited about this. Unfortunately I doubt it, judging by that picture of a modern classroom and the book reappearing. I'm going to buy it the day it's released regardless, but the storyline was my biggest problem with FFTA. The main character designs look spiffy, and so does the summon in that fourth image.
|
I personally really enjoyed FFTA, so I'm looking forward to this. I didn't have a terrible problem with FFTA's plot, but I'm hoping that the sequel doesn't have anything to do with the "real world," so to speak.
|
I think the story, or atleast the situation is somewhat similar. By that I mean the characters "enter" the world of Final Fantasy and escape from the real-world. I think I read that somewhere...official sounding haha.
I really liked the first FFTA but it needed to be a little more fast paced. The characters just moved and attacked waaay too slow for me. Maybe that was just the GBA but hopefully they speed it up a bit. |
I'm a bit worried about Luso (main character from FFTA2) showing up as a playable character in FFT PSP. Hope they didn't take out Cloud to put in this clown.
|
Cloud sucked so badly in FFT that I'd be fine with Luso added in his place. Maybe Luso will even start out higher than lvl 1 and with skills he can use before putting in way too much effort to obtain his sword.
|
I'd rather have Cloud and his limit breaks than Luso gaying things up with his sun bonnet.
At least Balthier is in the PSP version to balance things out. |
Yes, because that suave Brit doesn't give off a gay vibe at all.
|
Balthier has more of a James Bond vibe, but if it's gay at all, it's more of a Captain Jack (from Doctor Who) suave appeal, rather than Luso's "look at my FABULOUS new hat and does this armor make me look fat" vibe.
|
Well FFTA2 has been announced for the US. (And yes I link to rpgfan) >=[
Still on the fence with this one. I haven't looked much into it, but will definitely give it a whirl when it arrives. |
