I don't really know what to think of this. Will other countries follow Frances trend? I doubt it. It may be good that other countries don't. We don't need more crazy bastards running around thinking they saw UFOs when they've had one too many.

I don't see why you think people who think they see something are "crazy bastards" when they think they see these things. 25% of them are Type D, according to the article - which means they have "very good data and credible witnesses."

Just because lunatics in the midwest constantly see light in the sky when they're drunk doesn't mean there genuinely AREN'T some strange lights floating up in the sky every now and then, witnessed by your average citizen.

We don't know everything about the universe. It's stupid to pretend we do.

I'm not saying they're necessarily UFOs/OVNIs, but it's silly to keep everything so secretive about it. I think France did the right thing - realeasing documents on what are pretty much benevolent incidents of maybe mistaken sightings or misunderstanding? HOW does that hurt anyone.

I agree. You know how big it is up there? I'm not saying there must be aliens, but there's tons of junk that comes creaming into out atmosphere every day, who's to say if one of those chunks wont be actually something interesting?

Then there must be a whole lot of shit flying around constantly in space for some of it to actually happen to follow a trajectory in line with this planet, a percentage of the universe so infinitesimally small it's hardly worth acknowledging.

I have no doubts whatsoever that there's other life somewhere; it's pretty self-centered not to think so (though welcome to human nature). I just find it dubious that lifeforms who have achieved space travel would bother with such a meaningless world, let alone be even aware of its existence.

The shit that hits us is from our own solar system. The nothingness occurs in between our solar system and the next. By ratio there is a lot of stuff near us. We are between an asteroid belt and a star after all.

But what about the Vulcans?!?!?!?

TO be honest, when I first read this, I thought it was some kind of April Fool's joke article.. I remember reading one of the BBC about how "zombie virus" was spreading across Cambodia...

But I honestly do believe that other life forms are out there in the universe.. We can't be the most intelligent life form in the universe b/c then I feel very sad for the rest of the universe... Tha's for sure..

But with this coming out in the open.. maybe it will lead one step closer to people understanding that there is more life out there..

UFOs don't necessarily mean aliens, and they could really just be unidentified flying objects. I guess I'm so skeptic to think that this may actually be something the government is just releasing for fun to generate excitement in the world, and will later be proved to be a hoax. Of course, just thinking about all the people in the world that are advocates for extraterrestrial life and their ecstatic reactions to this news is more than enough of a fun thought to entertain.
