Best, Free, DVD playing software
Hey all, the title says it all. A friend of mine needs this. My mind is foggy on all of this though as I just use the software that is preinstalled on computers.
I know my friend tried one of the programs, but it had some region code issues. She can't connect online either to fix it (which is required), which leads to this post. Thanks all! |

Yes Vlc is pretty much the way to go. Except... the hotkeys kinda don't exist (I don't think they do) So if you wanna watch something over again, You're gonna have to move that button back a bit and start a ways back.
Unlike Bsplayer which is more user friendly IMO |

I use Media Player Classic. Simple, doesn't suck resources, and has a lot of options.

I strongly recommend Media Player Classic as well. I suggest also pairing it with AC3Filter for the Mpeg, PCM, AC3 and DTS audio of DVDs.
Also for tricky (meaning copy protected) DVDs, give AnyDVD a try, it's a trialware program, so you'll need to crack it for usefulness beyond the 21 day trial period. EDIT: AnyDVD can bypass region codes and user restrictions as well (and copy DVDs). |
