Weird shortcut problem.
 

I think the picture says it all, really. For some reason Windows can't find my DVD writer [F:] when I try to access it from a shortcut. There are no problems when accessing it through My Computer.

Any ideas?

Is your shortcut corrupted? Have you tried making another one?

I've tried several times, yes. Both using 'right-click'->make shortcut and 'dragging->dropping' the icon. Regardless though, it always turns out like this.

Sorry, I'm not even good at technical stuff like this. I just decIded to ask something to sound smart. (And it took me a while to come up with that)

Is there a disc inside?

The result is the same regardless of whether there is or not, Grawl.

And I just noticed the same thing occurs when using a shortcut for my virtual drive as well. It should also be noted that there are no problems with shortcuts to hard drive partitions. Only optical drives, it seems.

Weird problem. Were I in your place, I'd try a system restore rollback first.
