windows software raid question.

when converting a disk to dynamic from basic, do you lose data?

If you don't know but have a spare disk laying around to test it with or something, http://www.techimo.com/articles/index.pl?photo=149

If I am remembering correctly, the change from dynamic to basic will definitely involve data loss since successful conversion requires that all volumes on the disk be deleted. The solution is--of course--backing up any required data to some other place.

Got an answer from a guy who works as tech support for the canadian government lawl. It doesn't cause data loss for what I'm doing. But the only way to revert the disk back to basic, is wipe it.

Copying over my games to the new raid partition now.
