People in New Zealand

We're scheduled to fly to New Zealand in four months. Is there important things I should know before? Such as a place to avoid?

Thanks.

People in New Zealand stand infront of their fridge and just start sucking when they're hungry.

Also, I heard Sushi is a big thing in NZ. That, and Elixir.

I can't give much advice as I've never traveled away from Auckland. Auckland's city is pretty cluttered though.
(Oh, and auckland is fucking huge. It's probably the biggest area in the entire country.)

I'm more of a suburb kind of guy (living in east auckland right now) and surburbs are pretty mellow. It's really multi-cultural over here, too. The suburbs aren't really what I'd call a tourist attraction though. :3

Where will you be staying?

Sushi big? Nah. It's only the nigiri kind you find in most places anyway and it's hopeless for the most part. It's still pies and fish & chips. Can't beat the crisp, yellow pastry & batter.

Important thing: bring clothes, thick clothes
Thing to avoid: accidentally walking off a cliffside (we call it bungy)

That is still being worked out. But I will know very soon.

Everyone, thanks for reply.

Fish and Chips is the meal of the GODS. It's quite big in Newfoundland, too. That sweet, crispy batter makes life worth living.

I've heard that you have to roll your cigarettes yourself, and filtration is next-to-non-existent. Is there any truth to that? If so, awesome, because you can probably roll your joints in the same places you'd roll cigarettes.
