IE re-directs

I was at a friend's place today, and she had problems with her PC. I checked msconfig, ran Spybot and AdAware (15000 problems, motherfuck!), but her IE still acts funny. When you click on a link, it'll take you to a random site. What could I do to stop this?

Try Spy Sweeper 5.3.1.2344 to remove most spy.

SSEF-RETL-AAAB-GLXE-RZBJ
also I uploaded updater.

also try Remove About Blank Buddy

15,000 problems?! At that point, Grawl, I'd be seriously considering a reformat.

You'll need an anti-spyware program that goes after browser hijackers, not just spyware in general. Trend-Micro Anti-Spyware, Spyware Doctor, and HijackThis and it's online database counterpart come to mind. I am of the same mind as Zergrinch, though. Whenever I find a computer that badly infected by malware, a fresh install of Windows is usually the only way you can ever get it to run smoothly again.

But it's not my call if I'll reformat it, and if I'm correct she doesn't really use partitions all too wel and a lot of stuff is saved in the C-partition (and obviously no space to move around). I also don't know is she's running a legit copy of Windows, plus I don't have any Windows discs here right now.

I already got the thing to a point where the computer doesn't give any errors when booting and I'm sure she'll just use the pc happily when I fixed the IE-errors.

But I have to agree - 15k problems freaked me out, being the nerd I am.
