Speaker Setup - 2 Devices

I've got my Logitech 5.1 hooked up (it doesn't have this so-called adapter) to my computer through my Sound Blaster Live! and I would love to splice the output to the speakers so that I can also have it play my TV's audio. Is this possible, if so, what would I need to be looking for?

The speakers use Eighth inch plugs (the black, green, and orange) and I want my PC and my TV to be able to use these speakers for audio output. Thanks for any help in advance.

So you want the TV's (and any sources connected to the set) sound to play through the PC speakers? That's easy enough. If there's a red and white RCA out, you could get a Y adapter that converts it to 3.5mm like this this.

If I'm mistaken, please let me know.

He'll also need another Y adapter (3.5mm to 2x3.5mm) placed before the RCA adapter. One prong of this adapter will plug into the sound card, and the other will plug into the RCA adapter.

Ah! I completely forgot about that. That way he gets both sources connected at once rather than constantly switching cables.

Would I lose quality as the sound card would only have one prong connected, thus losing the true 5.1 Surround?
