New Silent Hill game (And more AOU 07 goodness)
 

This one's for Arcade O_o

So yeah, at this year's Arcade Operator's Union, Konami unveiled this new entry to the Silent Hill franchise. It's a Light Gun game, the closest thing I can think to compare would be Konami's own Henry Explorers/Crypt Killer and Taito's Space Gun.

Time will tell how this will turn out.

Your first link for Muchi-Muchi Pork! actually leads to a French site talking about an arcade game based on the Monster Arena in DQ8, but featuring the sword from Kenshin Dragon Quest. Looks pretty spiffy, from what I can discern with my rusty French.

I confess the the Silent Hill Arcade game confused me to start off with. I'd heard Konami were dropping the number from the next Silent Hill game, but from the looks of things this is - at most - a side story (more likely something akin to Gun Survivor 2).

It seems a little hinky to me: I always got the impression that Silent Hill wasn't supposed to be about Doom-style monster killing.

Hmm, that's pretty cool. Even if it defeats the best element of the series and turns it into some sort of House of the Dead/Resident Evil thing. I'll probably never see it in this country though. =/

How is this going to be even remotely scary when you can mow down the denizens of Silent Hill with AK-47s.

Wow, so this is apparently the new Silent Hill 5? Never would have though they'd stoop to a gun shooter. Well, I wonder how the soundtrack turned out.

no it's not silent hill 5 >.> it's just a silent hill arcade, much like Capcom did with the gun hazard series with resident evil.

Best. Game. Ever. I don't care what anyone says or what anyone thinks, this is the height of human evolution.

As much as I'd like it to happen I doubt Muchi Muchi Pork will see the PS2. Cave's last PS2 game was Ibara which... well, it was a shitty port and sucked if you played it as it came.

The soundtrack I can't get out of my head though. At least the main song, that is. :(

Still i hope it gets ported to console.

On the one hand, it's hard to imagine Silent Hill as an arcade shooter. On the other hand, it's Silent Hill...yeah, I'd have to play it if I found it anywhere.
