You can call them Clover, it's alright with us.

Solis Feb 14, 2007 07:45 PM

Their website address is an IP number? Well, they certainly seem like an independant.

SouthJag Feb 14, 2007 11:19 PM

Ah, damn. I would've liked to be the one to make the thread. You know, could've given a better, more descriptive title, a longer opening post, etc.

I was overjoyed when I heard the news. Extremely glad to have the possibility of Okami 2 open up. Even if Capcom had wanted to do a sequel using their own development team, it probably wouldn't have been as good as what Clover Studios would've done. I definitely look forward to hearing about what their first project will be.

Inhert Feb 15, 2007 01:14 AM

well if they are independent now I'm pretty sure Capcom owns the copyright for Okami, so if Capcom decide to keep it, I think we can forget Okami 2...

anyway, I pretty sure they next title will be as awesome as the others ^^

Edited thread title and replaced site address numbers with site address words. Also NeoGAF smells like a horses arse. :gonk: Nice site, good to see them pretty much back!

Unlike companies such as EA, Capcom arn't full of pompus, stuck up business men, so a sequel to Okami isn't that unlikely.

I'm glad that Clover has sprung up again, however these people arn't as important to the prior games that people think.

Atsushi Inaba
DMC1: Software Tech Support
All the other games he worked on he was a producer, not a creator or anything like that.

Hideki Kamiya
He directed DMC1, VJ1 & 2, Okami, Biohazard 2, and wrote the script for RE2, but still no creative director or anything like that.

Most other members follow suit. Who knows who is going to jump on board next, but without the real people who were the minds behind some of our most beloved Clover games, SEEDS has a lot of talent, but still no one who was truly responsible for creating the games that these people simply worked on.

Dave1988 Feb 15, 2007 09:33 AM

Well, they also have Mikami with them for all it's worth...

Kairi Li Feb 16, 2007 01:27 AM

And gamers all around rejoice at the fact that creatvity isn't dead.

Glad to see Clover gave birth to an offspring. Seeds looks like is gonna create the same great creative games like Okami.

Twilight's Twin Feb 17, 2007 09:19 PM

Yeah, but Okami sold like feces-iced donuts on BOTH sides of the giant puddle. So regardless how good the game is, I think it highly unlikely we'll ever see a sequel from EITHER company. The question is probably moot.

Infernal Monkey Feb 17, 2007 09:33 PM

Bad sales haven't stopped Capcom before! About eight people bought Viewtiful Joe 2 on both platforms worldwide, but they shook that off only to go and take an even bigger shit on the series with Red Hot Rumble which sold even worse!

Spatula Feb 17, 2007 09:46 PM

TOTALLY OFF TOPIC.

http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/cu...ar13074_11.gif

Kratos? Is that you?!?!?

SOMEWHAT ON TOPIC?

It's sad that I haven't touched Okami since Valkyrie Profile 2 came out like what, last September or October, and I never have had the chance to play the Viewtiful Joe series - made by "CLOVER" or Seed or what have you now. It's a real shame as I'm even struggling to clean up some of the earlier games in my collection, mainly the PS1 RPGS.
