FLAC question...

I was wondering if there is a way of 'verifying' FLAC album that do not have their log files. I've come across these albums quite frequently lately and I'm worried about their actual quality. I was told that you can analyze the FLAC files in a spectrogram to see if it cuts off at high frequencies, but I don't how to do that.

Can anyone here please explain it to me?

Edit: erm if you want to see if the source was lossy, check with cooledit or adobe audition's frequency analysis. it's usually pretty obvious if it was lossy, although some cds are mastered like crap making it hard to tell.

You might also wanna try auCDtect: http://www.true-audio.com/Free_Downloads

Which does exactly what you want. Here is what the readme file says:

This program could determine authenticity of a musical CD
records, stored in WAV format, using the character of the audio
data it contains, and predicts its possible source - is it an
original record or a reconstruction from a lossy encoded music
file (for example, MP3).
