How to block webpages? ... again.

So I posted something like this a while back, and was instructed to go into system32\drivers\ect\hosts and enter 127.0.0.1 www.whatever.com. This worked great for a while, I was trying to block myspace. I put in 127.0.0.1 www.myspace.com, but found that going to msn.com and typing in myspace then going to this link: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music makes it possible for you to be able to access myspace. I tried entering 127.0.0.1 http://profile.myspace.com and lots of other variations including the entire link, with www, without, ect., nothing worked. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or give me a better method of blocking webpages?

You generally don't put http:// in the hosts file. Can you paste the contents of your file here, for our convenience? (Also, you should be entering into /drivers/etc, not /drivers/ect.)

You could, alternatively, block the site if you access via a router.

Also, it could probably just be cached files. Try restarting your computer and clearing your cache.
