Have You Ever Had "Rancher's Beans"?
Wow! Its soooo good. You take a pound of ground beef, throw in ham, onions, kidney beans, more beans, and some BBQ sauce (probably some other ingredients too), and put it in the crockpot for a few hours. It is SOOO good. Its sweet, but not too sweet.
Has anyone ever tried this before? I highly recommend it. I will get more details for the ingredients asap. Do you enjoy beans with meats? What other things (Other than chili) can you make with beans? Do you like Beans in the first place? |
It sort of just sounds like elaborate baked beans. I've had things similar to this and I have to agree with you; it tastes delicious.
Though, I'm not a big fan of the barbeque flavoring when it comes to baked beans. I'm more of the maple and brown sugar type. |
Rest assured, there is not a single drop of barbeque sauce in the recipe. Brown sugar, molasses and ketchup sure make it seem that way though.

I've got a similar recipe that I cook on the stove, and it turns out good. I keep meaning to cook more with my crock pot, and I might have to search out a recipe like this, because I enjoy baked beans.

My mother also used to make something similar to this a lot. She didn't put ham in it, but she DID manage to use at least 4 or 5 different kinds of bean to make up for it.
And yes, it was pretty awesome. |
