Removing Wireless Connection Icons in System Tray
Despite me unchecking "Show icon in notification area when connected" and "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity", they persist in the systray. I have three adapters and it's rather irritating that they appear, and refuse to stay hidden even when I restart if I hide them. Is there another way of removing them?

Interestingly enough, I'm having the exact same issue right now.
I've just been installing Windows XP from scratch on a brand new drive and despite disabling the systray notification and the "Wireless Zero Configuration Wizard" service, I keep getting a "connection could not be established" icon with a red cross next to it, despite my connection working perfectly fine. I never had this issue before and I've tried tinkering with every setting even remotely network related. Oddly enough, the icon disappears as soon as I refresh my network neighbourhood. Very strange. |
