Coachella Music Festival 2007
It's that time of the year again. When all the greatest bands (that don't completely suck mainstream emo balls) gather on a little field in Indio, CA and rock the fucking place from here to memories eternal.
So tell me, connoisseurs of Coachella, how many of you are going to this three-day orgy of aural sex? Official Website Lineup Friday, April 27th

One of my friends back home (and maybe you know her...Jessica from Litho/Mr. P's drawing classes?) posted on Myspazz about the festival not too long ago. I really would love to go...but I can't. Since I'm in Tejas.
BUT -- I get South By Southwest. I think it's an even trade :p. But OMG Manu Chao, and GOGOL BORDELLO!!! They better bring their slavic gypsy asses back to Austin for SXSW... |

I know it's just a one time deal, but fuck do I wish they'd dump Chris Cornell and this Audioslave bullshit and get back Zach and reform Rage proper. |

<3 the Hellsing av/sig! |
My god. Brother Ali, The Decemberists, The New Pornographers, The Black Keys, Regina Spektor, Ghostface, Air, Explosions in the Sky, The Roots, and, (Last, but most definitely not least), the fucking Coup. I'm so jealous of California right now.
|
Wow. Rage Against the Machine actually getting together for that gig? Other than them and Rodrigo y Gabriela, none of the bands really interest me. I wish there was an American metal festival of this caliber. :( All the good ones are in Europe.

Every year around this time I get jealous of Californians because they get Coachella. There are some amazing acts on that list, and I'm stuck in god damn Nova Scotia. Bullshit ;_;
|
Rage Against The Machine reuniting and Red Hot Chili Peppers, yeah ok. Too bad I don't have a spare 5000 American pesos.
|
Screw the Chili Peppers. Nobody's going to see them in particular; they're going to see bands like The Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, Regina Spektor, LCD Soundsystem and The New Pornographers are playing that night too. I mean, sure the Peppers are pretty good, but if I have my choice between them and The Arcade Fire, Canada is going to win this round. <3
|
I'd highly recommend !!!. Might not be for most people, but I really enjoy them.
|
So really guys... Is anyone else planning on going to this? Because I already have a group of 3 confirmed with me, including my adopted godson. Who wants to meet up out there and hang out to watch 72 hours of non-stop shows?

Fucking April 28th looks SO GREAT. Hell every day looks amazing.
I want to see Andrew Bird, he is my musical soul mate. |
I don't know how they are scheduling out the acts on the days but I know from going to Bonnaroo that it was tough trying to decide between different bands that were playing at the same time. Have fun making those decisions.
|
Oh man, so many bands I've never heard of. But from what I know, Arcade Fire is gonna rock. I've heard one single from Rodrigo y Gabriela and I liked their stuff. Crowded House? They only have one hit in the 80s. And about RHCP, there will definitely have those hard core RHCP fans there, although Stadium Arcadium is drab.
