Benchmarking software
I'm having some doubts as to whether some of the components in my computer are optimally configured and/or working as well as they should. Is there any recommended software I can use to benchmark my system, as well as compare those values with known/normal values for each particular part? I remember hearing of a couple different apps, but I want to know what you guys think. Thanks.

There's Aquamark 3 that will test out your video card and is direct X9 compatible, and is a good test to see if your computer can handle high end gaming. WinStress will test out most of the components on your computer to see if they run into errors. Sadly they don't offer a trial, but I'm sure someone here has a cracked version of it.

SiSoftware Sandra provides you with a lot of information about your system and compare them to other systems. You can benchmark pretty much everything. There's cracked versions around, though the free Lite version may be enough, but I don't know. I haven't used it for years.
