Mini-DV Tape question
I was wondering if I brought cheap mini dv tapes would the audio and video turn out okay.
Because newegg is selling this very cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16830999973 Where can I find the lowest price media for my camcorder? thanks |
according to the reviews on newegg, they look to be fine.
In my experience though, Panasonic is a good brand. And if you're looking for cheap electronics stuff, Newegg is probably your best bet. |
If I brought a target store branded minidv tape , would that be okay for video editing later on?

From what I know, the quality/brand of the Mini-DV tapes isn't as important as it was with analog tapes. The overall recording quality should be perfect when you'll do editing, unless the tape had a defect. The thing I'm thinking about is that cheap tapes might last not as long as more costly ones, but even then, you should burn your movies on DVD after the editing, so you won't need to use the tapes as archives. My tapes are pretty much all of the JVC brand, and footages I've recorded 5 years ago are still perfect when I watched them recently.
