Graffiti

I've been a graffiti artist for some six years now. Just wondering if there are any more writers/stencilers/street artists on the board who want to compare stories, ink recipes or just general graffiti based banter.

I'll start :) Last year when I was out bombing I was just about to finish a piece when the local police spotted me, granted I was out in the streets so I brought it upon myself. As they gave chase I managed to get away by vaulting over a wall, managing to shatter my big toe nail as I swung over. I thought I was screwed because all I could do is limp away, luckily the police lost interest. Probably because they didn't fancy scaling a wall to catch one graffiti artist.

Oh and limped back two days later and finished the piece :D

Mind giving an example of your work? Some graffiti is really great, but that's hardly the majority of it.

I don't do graffiti myself, but once as a romantic gesture I got a piece done for me, pi to a hundred decimal places stencilled on the side of a library wall :D disturbingly that's the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me.

This is the only thing I can get hold of at the second, since I do not own a scanner but I'll be glad to scan some of my newer work next time I'm at Uni :)

I don't write angel anymore since the police know its me lol I got in so much trouble when I did this actual piece. I saw the police but I just bit the bullet and finished it, rather that than leave it half done.
I think it was 100 hours community service or something.
Good times.

Oooooooh I LOOOVE graffiti! Though I've never actually drew a painting on the wall or something, but I fantasize what I'd draw if there is a wall for me to paint. :P Like:

I even bought the book Graffiti World: Street Art from five Continents and it's a really good book! And I was totally addicted to the game Jet Set/Grind Radio too~ :P

Love love love.

My son does awesome graffiti. I hope to hell it's just on paper (which goes against the entire point, I'm sure), but it's really gorgeous. I'm going to try to get some and scan it.

I really admire graffiti artists, specially the ones who can make awesome big figures on walls. It's like whole new field of art, I wonder if it's officially recognized as one, I sure hope it is. Anyways, awesome stuff deadsky, I wish we had more graffiti artists like you in here, all we have are cheap spray-painted names on walls, no art whatsoever.

We get idiots who spray over our murals and they always pick the ones that took us hours to do  I wouldn't get so angry if they'd hadn't just scrawled "Jim woz ere" or what have you.
