Sunglasses thread
Hey it is January which is a good month for wearing sunglasses. I just had to look in my room for a couple of minutes and I found my sunglasses, they are very nice, they didn't cost much (I think I got them for about fifty cents in some second hand shop where they actually sell first hand junk but label it "second hand shop" so they can save taxes but that is not the topic) and they have a breathtaking color. They look a bit porno, but I cannot help it. I think I look tremendous with them and if I had a camera handy (and by "handy", I don't mean cellphone! ) I would show you.
So what kind of sunglasses do you have? Good sunglasses? Bad sunglasses? Third category (to be situationed below "bad sunglasses"): Matrix sunglasses? Go and create your reply!! |
My sunglasses are very nice. Versace something or other. They cost me quite a bit, but they look good. I would take a photo if I had a camera handy. Maybe I'll find them online later.

I was always a big fan of cheapo Target sunglasses, or the like. That is, until I took a tour of the Oakley factory in southern Cali. After having the benefits of a good pair of sunglasses explained to me, as well as learning that the correct kind of sunglasses would help do away with headaches caused by sunglasses, I was on a quest to get me some Oakleys. Finally did in March of 2005, or thereabouts, and have never looked back. I surprisingly haven't lost them or broken them yet, either.

As you can see from this train of images, I have a number of different pairs of sunglasses.
I'm so apt to losing sunglesses that I'll never spend more than $20 on a pair. |
Mine are usually a minimalistic non-bulky pair of shades from a Walmart.
Its really a good month for glasses? not here, well, in case you dont want to get into an accident from blinding snow/ice glare (a real killer first thing in the morning). |
As much as I want a Nike or a brand name sunglasses pair, I end up buying those "2 for $10" ones.
I currently have an American Choppers' pair (like said, cheap type but sturdy all the same) and another sport-looking one. I already lost 2 pairs so SO SAD. |
My sunglasses cost me £15 from a store called Boots. They rock. They've got a green tint in the lense and look good on me. I wear them alot when I'm driving my car lol make me feel special lol.

I always wear eyeglasses since I can't ever get myself to start using contacts, but I don't mind. I have transitional lenses though that get darker when in sunlight, so that's cool. And then they fade out when I get back indoors. It's also been nice for my eyes as I stare at a computer monitor for most of the day at work.

i have the cheapo knockoff brand from the little kiosks in the center of the mall walkways. they are polarized and look decent, so they fulfill all of my reqs.
p.s. is it weird that i am straight guy and think i actually look decent if some of those big diva glasses that grlz wear ? essentially they are aviators (which i also like) for women it seems. |

I used to have quite nice Oakley Five sunglasses back in high school, until one of the arms snapped, ;__;, and this was before I had to wear prescription glasses.
Oakley Five Now I wear the Oakley Chain 6.0 which is both my regular eyeglasses and as well as a transition lens which turns quite dark when it is activated by UV light, so they do serve as my sunglasses as well. Oakley Chain 6.0 Double  |
I just can't wear sunglasses. I'm possibly the only person in existance who can't look good in them =(
|
Unfortunately, the only sunglasses I have are the ones I use for work as safety glasses during the summer. I have never been much of a fan for sunglasses mainly due to the fact that I usually don't look very good. People can't recognize me after I put them on either.
|
I think I got mine in Mexx or Diesel possibly, I have to wear them quite often since I suffer from a lot of headaches (related to drinking or not) and sleeping problems ever since I came here. They're nothing special, just your average glasses.
|
I wear Oakley 5's like the ones Spatula showed, and they're polarized. I've had them for several years, but I'm pretty good about keeping them clean and scratch free. However, I think I'm due for a new pair. Any recommendations?

I have 2 pairs of sunglasses that I wear rather often. I have a pair of Von Zipper Mazzi shades that I bought at Moondoggie's in Pismo Beach two years ago
http://www.pacwave.net/shop/images/6499.gif and a pair of Maui Jim Shaka shades. http://www.mauijim.com/mjweb/public/.../LQR105-02.jpg The latter cost me $150 but are usually worth $200. Great sunglasses too; they're triple polarized unlike the Von Zipper shades so I can see for eternity while I'm driving. Additional Spam: Quote:

I rock the aviators. Stunna shades all the way!
|
Sadly my shades are all prescription ... and now that my Rx changed I can't use them! Why cruel world, Why?!?!?!?
I hate bad eyesight. -_- |
Large pair of mirrored aviators. Very Top Gun/Super Troopers-esque.
Love them, and they fit my overall look quite nicely. |
I used to have a pair of ray-ban aviators, they were perfect for flying with... unfortunately I think I left them at the FBO in timmins when I flew there awhile back :(
Now I've got my Dad's old Oakley 5s... they're a bit tight, so I'm looking for a deal on the ray-bans again. |
